Dr. Betsy Rippentrop, a psychologist, and Kate Moreland, a lawyer and CEO, are having conversations about how women have been conditioned to lose connection to their inner voice and natural instincts, and how the time has come for us to re-wild. Both grew up as overachievers and perfectionists and took traditional career paths, following the rules society set for success. This required a loss of authenticity and a disconnection to their own wild essence. We explore questions and tools around how best to listen to our inner voice, re-wild ourselves, and live the most authentic life, where we thrive instead of survive.2022 - Dr. Betsy Rippentrop and Kate Moreland 旅行記・解説 社会科学 衛生・健康的な生活

  • 215. Honoring Iconic Wild Women: Dolly, Maya, & Georgia
    2026/09/04
In this episode, we explore how the Wild Woman archetype lives through three iconic women: Dolly Parton, Maya Angelou, and Georgia O’Keeffe. Following the loss of Dolly Parton, we reflect on why her life touched so many people across generations and differences. Her wildness wasn’t rebellion for rebellion’s sake—it was radical self-definition. She transformed her Appalachian roots into art, protected ownership of her work, embraced femininity on her own terms, and used her success to create opportunities for others. Dolly represents the Wild Woman as Creator: I will make something beautiful from what I’ve been given. Maya Angelou represents the Wild Woman as Voice. Through trauma, silence, motherhood, activism, and art, she repeatedly refused to let the world define the limits of her being. She entered the places where women can be silenced—and returned with a voice powerful enough to transform personal experience into communal wisdom. Her declaration: I will speak what I know. Georgia O’Keeffe embodies the Wild Woman as Sovereign. She built a life around her own rhythms, perceptions, creativity, and relationship with the natural world. Through solitude and fierce independence, she listened to the call of her own life more closely than she listened to cultural expectations. Her declaration: I will live according to my own nature. Together, these women invite us to: Move from adaptation to instinctMove from pleasing to authenticityMove from silence to voiceMove from fragmentation to wholenessMove from cultural expectations to inner authority The Wild Woman is not simply the “bad girl” or the rebellious woman. As Clarissa Pinkola Estés describes her, she is the woman who is instinctual, creative, psychologically alive, sovereign, and unwilling to abandon herself. Perhaps the world recognizes and honors the Wild Woman without always having language for her. Perhaps the women who embody her are, as Maya Angelou wrote, truly phenomenal women. Dolly: Create. Maya: Speak. Georgia: Be. • 214. Reclaiming Financial Power with Diana Richey
    2026/08/28
What if financial empowerment isn’t only about learning how to invest—but also about uncovering the beliefs that have shaped your relationship with money? In this episode, we talk with investor, tax attorney, writer, and financial educator Diana Richey about the inner and outer work of building wealth. Diana grew up with financial stability and strong lessons about saving and responsibility, but she also absorbed a message familiar to many women: men make the money, while women are cared for financially. That conditioning followed Diana into adulthood. She married young, became a “trailing spouse,” and built a successful legal career around her husband’s professional ambitions. As she approached 30, however, the life that looked successful from the outside began to feel increasingly heavy. A simple free-writing exercise helped her acknowledge what she truly wanted: nature, simplicity, freedom, and a life that felt more like her own. Diana shares the painful story of signing a postnuptial agreement that relinquished her rights to the company her husband built during their marriage. After their divorce, the company went public for billions—and Diana was forced to confront not only the financial loss, but also the codependency, people-pleasing, and “good girl” conditioning that influenced her decision. Rather than allowing that loss to define her, Diana used the resources she still had—her legal and financial education, her savings, and her determination—to begin studying the world’s most successful investors. Over several years, she developed her own disciplined investment process centered on research, risk awareness, and thoughtful decision-making. Together, we explore how women can become more connected to their money, trust their instincts, and build financial confidence through action. In this conversation: How childhood conditioning shapes women’s relationships with moneyDiana’s journey from “trailing spouse” to managing her own investmentsThe role of codependency, people-pleasing, and the “good girl” identityWhy financial transformation requires both inner and practical workInvesting with greater awareness, integrity, and alignmentBuilding confidence by starting small and learning through experienceTrusting your instincts while developing a thoughtful approach to riskHow women can use wealth to support their families, communities, and values Links: To be magnetic : https://tobemagnetic.com Join Diana’s substack: https://www.dianarichey.com Book by Diana Richey The Loving Truth About Money: A Practical Guide to Creating Financial Peace Other Episodes You Might Like: Episode 137: Holly Morphew: Health, Wealth, and Building Self Episode 124: Shadow Work Episode 79: Gratitude: Getting Real about How You Feel Episode 76: Women Finding Their Voice Today’s Episode sponsored by: Kate Moreland Coaching (https://www.katemorelandcoaching.com/) Dr Yoga Momma (https://dryogamomma.com/) Heartland Yoga (https://heartlandyoga.com/) Want to do coaching work with Kate or mind-body psychotherapy with Betsy?
