Morgyn and Liz introduce their work on explaining the roles of case law and legislation played in the formation of special education.  We cover in class from Brown vs. Board of Education up to IDEIA.

Today we begin discussing concepts around executive function, and memory.

This is another dive into the weeds on assessment.  This was recorded on September 2, 2022, for the Teacher Licensure program.  We dive further into the differences between Federal law, and the various state laws surrounding time frames for initial evaluation into special education.

1) Who are you?  How do you define yourself?  Do you define yourself by what you cannot do?  IDEA provides us with 13 distinct categories of disability (exceptionalities), each is defined by what the student cannot do and their limitations.  We briefly discuss this in this episode.

3) We did some exercises that illustrated how the brain processes and students experienced how difficult it can be when you have processing issues.
