Hafa adai and welcome to Taotao Tåsi 🌅 People of the Ocean 👋🤙
This is Part 1 On the Beach 🏝️
This series takes us on a voyage through the Pacific Ocean with Palu Larry Raigetal, a traditional master navigator of the sea. Palu Larry will share stories of how navigators open sea lanes to connect to islands and how they use the stars, water, land, birds, fish, and whales to navigate. We’ll also talk about the importance of exchange, asking for permission, and respecting Indigenous knowledge.
So, come aboard our sakman (canoe), and voyage the open ocean with a Master Navigator and your host, Jaybyrd Castro. In this episode, we prepare for our ocean voyage on the beach and Palu Larry performs the Indigenous Micronesian chant to open the ocean.
Tracks provided by Sabyu, Polaris is from the Navigator EP https://sabyu.bandcamp.com/album/navigator-ep-mastered
