  • Shamanic Wisdom and Ancestral Healing
    2026/06/10

In Episode 12 of Beyond the Five Senses, I sit down with John Lockley, a traditional Xhosa and Swazi Sangoma (African shaman), author, teacher, and spiritual guide. After completing a decade-long apprenticeship in South Africa, John dedicated his life to sharing indigenous wisdom, dreamwork, ancestral healing, and what he calls "The Way of the Leopard," a path of intuition, instinct, and deep connection to nature. John shares his extraordinary journey from a young boy growing up in South Africa to answering the ancestral call to become a traditional healer. We explore the power of dreams, the role of ancestors in healing, the importance of deep listening, and how reconnecting with nature can help us access wisdom that modern life often drowns out. John also discusses Leopard Medicine, cultural identity, empathy, and the universal human need for connection and belonging. If you're curious about shamanism, fascinated by dreams, or seeking a deeper connection to yourself and the world around you, this conversation offers powerful insights and timeless wisdom.
