In this Tabletop Travel Agency One-Shot Special, Aaron takes the director’s chair for the first time as the group plays Hometown Holiday, a comedy-romance tabletop RPG inspired by the wonderfully predictable world of televised holiday movies.

Holly Slater has returned to her hometown of Mystic, Connecticut, with her big-city boyfriend, Craig Gregson. Javier is a local firefighter finally enjoying his first holiday off in ten years. Lazlo is the relentlessly friendly owner of the town parking lot, while white-collar criminal defense attorney Doug Stutford arrives with goals, schemes, and a willingness to bribe nearly anyone.

Their lives collide when all four are selected to compete for a date with Mystic’s executive holiday planner, the awkwardly charming Chris K. Ringle. Each contestant will plan a romantic outing before Chris chooses someone to accompany him to the Holiday Ball Bash at the aquarium.

What follows includes an extravagantly private aquarium tour, a trip to a Christmas tree farm, a snowed-in holiday fundraiser, workplace intervention, questionable business proposals, a town tree-lighting ceremony, and several romantic developments nobody anticipated.

A dead god. A forbidden cult. A tower built to imprison something that should never be free.

In this Tabletop Travel Agency One-Shot Special, Val leads Rowena, Arin, Buzz, and Wretch into the grim medieval world of Doomsong, a roleplaying game of apocalyptic horror, doomed heroes, forbidden gods, and terrible consequences.

Finale: Doom’s Door is open and the greatest threat may already be standing inside the team.

Pigeon, Viri, Abyss, and Shleign remain trapped inside the Host’s collapsing dimension. After freeing Meline from her trance, the team searches a seemingly endless hallway filled with dressing rooms belonging to Vidian’s celestial children.

Inside Viri’s room are recordings of performances that should never have been captured. Inside Abyss’s room is an endless void. Damona’s room reveals a plan to overthrow Vidian, while a recording hidden inside Danu’s room exposes the truth about the betrayal that transformed the siblings into the Host.

With eight keys collected, the Division agents assemble their final theory and unlock Doom’s Door. On the other side, Vidian awaits inside a celestial cage along with the missing women, the Host, and the final pieces of the prophecy.

But Vidian has been watching the entire investigation.

When the goddess of life reveals her true plan, another Harbinger emerges from within the team. Alliances collapse, monsters embrace their darkest forms, and the final confrontation becomes a brutal fight between friendship, hunger, creation, and destruction.

Stopping the apocalypse will require a sacrifice. Surviving it may require someone to become the next Vidian.

This is the fifth and final episode of Apocalypse Keys, an actual-play tabletop roleplaying series from Tabletop Travel Agency using the supernatural mystery RPG published by Evil Hat Productions.

Episode 4: The Host has four women. It needs one more and it has chosen Shleign.

After escaping the supernatural game show, Pigeon, Viri, Abyss, and Shleign regroup at Division to uncover the truth about the Host’s plan. Abyss enters Vidian’s memories and discovers a forgotten connection to Viri’s celestial family, along with a prophecy that could determine whether three divine children or the entire world will be destroyed.

When the team summons the Host, it reveals the purpose behind the disappearances. Bailey, Victoria, Meline, Vivian, and Shleign contain the memories and desires needed to create its new physical form. The women will not simply be sacrificed they will be merged into one new entity and become part of the Host forever.

The team devises a desperate plan to sabotage the transformation by replacing Vivian with an unwilling decoy. But first, they must subdue a Division employee, create a convincing disguise, survive another journey between dimensions, and keep Pigeon from revealing the deception.

Inside the Host’s green room, the agents find the missing women and hundreds of dressing rooms belonging to Viri’s celestial siblings. Their attempted rescue leads them onto a new stage, where the Host begins its final performance.

The ritual has started. The deception has been exposed. And the Host wants to know where Vivian is.
