There’s no such thing as one right way to do life. No Such Thing is a podcast hosted by Krysta Huber — marketing strategist and coach — about the overlap between work, health, and the rest of life that happens in between. Each episode is a look at how we build habits, make decisions, and lead ourselves through the parts of life that don’t fit into clean categories. Some weeks it’s something practical. Other weeks, it’s the kind of reminder that lands when you need it most — that you don’t have to burn everything down to make a change, and you don’t have to have everything figured out.Operation Podcast マネジメント・リーダーシップ リーダーシップ 経済学

  • When Optimizing Becomes the Thing You’re Optimizing For
    2026/09/13

Krysta was walking home from the grocery store when she remembered the post. A business coach listing everything she no longer does herself on the way to $100K months: no grocery runs, because someone else handles the meal prep. No washing her own hair, because there's a weekly blowout. And there Krysta was, carrying her own bags. (Does this mean I shouldn't be going to the grocery store?) By the time she got home she had 97% of this episode — which turns out to be the point.

That Post Is a List of Preferences, Not a Blueprint

    • The coach wasn't wrong, she was specific to herself. Krysta sweats too much for a blowout to last a week, so outsourcing her hair means two or three salon trips, not one.

    • Krysta and Mike live in the same apartment and handle this completely differently. He's Instacart and a meal prep service. She likes the walk and the cooking.

You're Already Optimizing, You Just Chose Different Things

    • She talks into her Notes app and into ChatGPT instead of typing, because she thinks faster than she types. Four-minute voice note in, structured episode out.

    • A pill organizer in the bathroom cabinet so she stops asking at 1 p.m. whether she took her supplements. A coach writing workouts she could write herself.

    • The line: she isn't outsourcing the thinking, she's outsourcing the friction around it. ChatGPT organizes the idea and finds the holes in it. It doesn't have the idea.

Buying Back Time Only Works If You Know What It's For

    • Honestly? If the groceries had shown up at her door, some of that 45 minutes becomes email and some becomes 20 minutes on Instagram she'd count as work.

    • Ask whether you dislike the activity or the decisions around it. She doesn't want to stop cooking, she wants to stop reinventing the wheel — air fryer shortcuts, the frozen aisle.

Optimize Everything and You Delete Your Own Raw Material

    • Apartment to Uber to office to delivered food to laptop, repeat. Where in that day do you overhear something or watch a stranger react to something?

    • Same trap in health: macros, steps, the split, the Oura ring, supplement timing — until being healthy is a second job and you're not living the life you wanted it for.

    Fix Tip of the Week

Every time you catch yourself thinking "I should make this more efficient," don't change anything yet. Put it in your Notes app and answer three questions:

    1. What am I actually trying to save? (time, decisions, energy, or money)

    2. What would I realistically do with that saved resource?

    3. Do I like any step of the thing I'm about to remove?

Run it for a week. A few will be obvious things you should have automated ages ago. A few, you'll find you actually like — and you'll only need to delegate part of it, not all of it.

    This Week's Exercise

Pick the thing you keep almost outsourcing and ask what it gives you that would never show up in a time audit. The grocery store gives Krysta more than groceries. DM her @thekrystahuber with yours.

No Such Thing of the Week

There's no such thing as an optimized life if you remove all the parts of it you actually like living.

  • No Such Thing as One Take: EP 4
    2026/09/06

A restaurant in Woodbridge let a regular named Johnny run a tab when he was short on money, and the GoFundMe that came out of it hit $12,000 in five days. The very next reel in the feed was an influencer refusing to show the shoes unless you commented for the link. That's September on the internet in two posts.

In this episode we dive into:

    - Why September, not January, is the window to change your year

    - The litmus test to run before you buy another course

    - Where AI is actually making money, and where it's costing you

    - Why you don't need more leads, you need to finish the relationships you have

The Course Only Teaches You How They Launched

    - Fifteen people launched the same guide in one week, and most of them grew by selling that exact course

    - The seller already had a rock-solid personal brand. The results came from that, not the tool

    - Ask yourself first: do you have the capacity to implement it if you're not posting daily yet?

There's no such thing as buying someone else's results. A course can teach you how they launched, but it can't hand you the brand that made it work.

  • Their Timeline Says Nothing About Yours
    2026/08/30

Four voice notes deep with a marketing client — three-minute chunks adding up to a fifteen-minute TED talk — Krysta realized she'd already recorded this episode once. The client's question: why am I in the trenches when I've been in this room longer than the people I keep watching take off? Not "what am I doing wrong," because she's checking every box. Just "what is my problem?" This one is for anyone doing everything right while the result takes its time.

Everything You're Watching Is the Highlight, Compressed

    • Krysta doesn't lead with revenue jumps or body fat percentages on purpose. The number is the byproduct — the transformation is the person who thought content was impossible and now has a working relationship with it

    • A celebrity trainer at a conference called himself a ten-year overnight success, because social compresses a decade into the first impressive moment you notice

    • Nobody posts the random Tuesday four years earlier, when that person was asking whether this was going to work

Effort and Outcome Don't Trade at a Fixed Rate

    • Two people can do objectively good work and get wildly different results — different starting points, audiences, offers, responsibilities, luck. Effort doesn't earn points you redeem for the exact life you pictured, much as Krysta wishes it did

    • You can be happy for someone, a little jealous, and wishing your result would hurry up all at once. None of it is proof you don't believe in yourself

Frustration Is Sometimes Information and Sometimes Just a Feeling

    • Once the wait starts meaning something about you — I'm behind, I'm blocked, maybe I'm not meant for this — you try to outrun the feeling by changing everything

    • A new offer, a new mentor, a new content strategy. Or cutting carbs after two bad weeks, so you never find out what the original plan would have done

    • The question to run: do I have evidence this plan is failing me, or am I just frustrated with how long it's taking? If it's started to feel boring, you're probably getting good at it

    Fix Tip of the Week

    • Pick a four-week window and no more than three behaviors to track. Set a weekly reminder, or have Claude or ChatGPT check in and log them with you. Take your starting data, then leave the plan alone. Consistent execution with nothing moving means change a variable. Spotty execution is not a license to cut 200 more calories.

    This Week's Exercise

Write the frustrated version out first — the jealous, unfair, why-her-and-not-me-yet version, unedited. Then answer one question underneath it: do I have evidence my plan is failing, or am I just tired of waiting? DM Krysta at @thekrystahuber and tell her which one it was.

No Such Thing of the Week

There's no such thing as someone else getting there faster meaning you're late. All it proves is that they got there faster.
