  • 102. Salah vs Liverpool, and will Glasner be at Crystal Palace next season? | Season 25/26, Episode 6

All is not well at Liverpool Football Club... Despite an excellent win at Inter, Mo Salah's comments at the weekend threw another spanner into an already unsettled season. We start this episode of the TCF Sport podcast by discussing whether we think Salah was right to say what he said, what it means for his and Arne Slot's futures at Anfield, and how the situation can be resolved.

Crystal Palace are next on the agenda after Oliver Glasner also spoke candidly following the Eagles' defeat against Manchester United. The Austrian is clearly building something special at Selhurst Park, but will he still be at the helm next season? The answer to that question could depend on how heavily the Board invest in the squad in January...

Arsenal suffered their first defeat since August following a late Emiliano Buendia winner at Villa Park. More worringly for the Gunners, that's now three big away Premier League games in a row they've failed to win. So, is Mikel Arteta's side good enough to win the Premier League? Or will they lose out to Manchester City for the third time in four seasons?

Of course, Aston Villa themselves can't be discounted after winning 9 of their last 10 top flight fixtures. Or can they? We discuss whether Unai Emery's side is in the title race, and what's next for Harvey Elliott after his move to Villa Park hasn't worked out.

Talking points around Tottenham, Newcastle, Everton, Sunderland and Wolves follow, before we finish the episode by reacting to the draw for the 2026 World Cup draw. This includes an excellent idea for how the format of the World Cup can be improved, so stick around!

  • 101. Relegation decided already and is Thomas Frank under pressure at Tottenham? | Season 25/26, Episode 5
    2025/11/24

A dramatic international break is over, and domestic football is back uninterrupted until March!

While this episode was recorded before Matchweek 12 began, both the relegation battle and Tottenham's turgid performances were high on the agenda. For one of us, it's clear which three clubs will be relegated come May (sorry Leeds). Following a string of poor home performances, we also discuss whether Thomas Frank is under pressure in North London, and which of his players he needs to drop to the bench for a few weeks.

Before that, we also run through the recent international break, giving credit to Scotland (well, one of us does) for qualifying for the World Cup and questioning Thomas Tuchel's selection of certain players in England's World Cup qualifiers.

We end on a different note, looking through the predictions each club's fanbase made before the season started to see just how accurate (or deluded) they were.

  • 100. Evaluating Viktor Gyokeres' start at Arsenal and Sean Dyche is back in the Premier League!
    2025/10/26

Welcome to the 100th episode of the TCF Sport podcast! Well, 100 audio episodes, that is. We still have a fair way to go before we hit 100 video episodes, but that didn't stop us from spending the first 10 minutes of this podcast reminiscing about some of our favourite moments from recording so far. Naturally, Arsenal feature...

With the nostalgia out of the way, we turn our attention to current Premier League talking points, beginning with the Gunners. Since we last recorded, Arsenal have beaten Newcastle, Olympiacos, West Ham, Fulham and Atletico Madrid. So, has Steve changed his stance on Mikel Arteta? We also give our views on Viktor Gyokeres' start to life in North London, asking if he has improved Arteta's side (one of us definitely thinks so).

After that, we turn our attention to the current soap opera club of the Premier League: Nottingham Forest. Postecoglou's 39-day tenure ended without a single win, but did he deserve more time? Whether he did or not, we both agree that it's great to have Sean Dyche back managing in the top flight.

Tottenham are next on our agenda, as we discuss whether Thomas Frank's team have flattered to deceive so far this season, and if their underwhelming performances are going under the radar. We then analyse Liverpool's struggles, before updating our relegation predictions.

Finally, we round out the episode with a brief discussion on Celtic's and Rangers' struggles in Scotland (to Hearts' gain), Graham Potter's new role with the Swedish National Team, and the quirks of Michael Owen.

  • 99. Will Nuno save West Ham, and what next for Graham Potter?
    2025/09/30

    Send us a text

Welcome back to the TCF Sport podcast! Since we last recorded, there's been significant change at West Ham, as Graham Potter got the chop and was replaced by Nuno Espirito Santo. We begin this episode by discussing whether the appointment of Nuno is a good one for the Hammers, and if the Portuguese can save the club from relegation this season. After his stock has declined since leaving Brighton, we also ask whether Graham Potter will get another Premier League job.

Arsenal are next up on our agenda. Following criticism of Mikel Arteta that he needs to take the handbrake off the Gunners (before their excellent win at Newcastle), we give our opinions on who we think makes up the club's best XI. After two Premier League defeats in a row for Chelsea, we also discuss whether Enzo Maresca is under pressure at Stamford Bridge, and whether he ought to be.

Harry Kane then gets a mention after he scored his 100th goal in 104 games for Bayern Munich, beating the previous record held by Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland. Finally, there are mentions for Sunderland, Wolves and Manchester United as we round out the episode.

  • 98. Ange is BACK, but for how long? | Season 25/26, Episode 2
    2025/09/15

    Send us a text

Mr Marinakis, what have you done? That's the first question we ask on this episode of the TCF Sport podcast, as we dissect the managerial change at Nottingham Forest. That includes Nuno's fallout with Edu, whether Postecoglou is the right man to take over at the City Ground, and how long the Australian will last in the post.

There has also been a big change at Posetecoglou's former club in recent weeks, with long-time Executive Chairman Daniel Levy being relieved of his duties at Tottenham. We explore Levy's legacy, asking if the 63-year-old has been a success in North London.

Discussion about the major ins and outs of the summer transfer window follows, before attention turns to all matters on the pitch from the opening weeks of the Premier League. This includes a good debate on Mikel Arteta, with a disagreement over whether he is the right manager to get Arsenal across the winning line and achieve success at the club. VAR and the re-refereeing of top-flight games, West Ham, Manchester City, and the three promoted sides also feature.

  • 96. Will Gyokeres succeed at Arsenal, and where will Isak end up?
    2025/08/07

    Send us a text

*WE APOLOGISE FOR ANY BACKGROUND NOISE YOU HEAR THROUGHOUT THE EPISODE.*

The new season is almost upon us! Before we turn our attention to predictions for the 2025/26 Premier League campaign, however, we run through all of the transfer news and rumours of the last few weeks.

That begins with Newcastle United after the Magpies were rocked by Alexander Isak's news that he wants to leave and join Liverpool. After discussing where Isak could end up and the implications for the rest of the league if the Reds get him, we run through the recent transfer business conducted by Manchester United, West Ham, Manchester City, Sunderland, Tottenham, and Arsenal. There is an extended discussion around the two North London clubs following Son's departure to LAFC and Arsenal's signing of Viktor Gyokeres.

The final quarter of the episode covers other off-pitch news, specifically Luke Shaw's comments that Manchester United should be challenging for the league title, UEFA's (disgraceful) ruling that Crystal Palace cannot play Europa League football this season, and Santi Cazorla and Real Oviedo's heroics at the backend of the last campaign.

  • 95. Have Arsenal acted poorly with their handling of the Thomas Partey situation?
    2025/07/14

    Send us a text

This week's episode starts with the recent news that Thomas Partey has been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault in separate incidents between 2021 and 2022. Specifically, we ask whether Arsenal should have continued to play Partey over the last few seasons, and whether the club deserves criticism for their handling of the player and the situation.

We then move to on-field matters, starting with the reaction to Jurgen Klopp's criticism of the Club World Cup, before turning to Brentford's appointment of Keith Andrews.

The second half of this episode focuses on transfer developments, including the five first-team players who have been shown the exit door at Manchester United, Chelsea's purchase of Joao Pedro, and Kyle Walker's and Mohammed Kudus' moves to Burnley and Tottenham, respectively.

Finally, we turn our attention to England, questioning the senior men's side's recent performances against Andorra and Senegal, before (deservedly) praising the U21s for their triumph at the European Championship in Slovakia.
