  • Your Job Is Not Your Identity
    2026/08/03
What happens when your job becomes the only language you have for describing yourself?

You may have donated pieces of your identity badge by badge, meeting by meeting, until the company became the author of your story. Your convictions, values, and voice were never confined to a building, position, or paycheck.

This week, introduce yourself without mentioning your job title. Then write three things you knew about yourself before your first paycheck and complete this sentence: “I am…”

Your next chapter begins when you remember that you are still holding the pen.

  • Mid-Year Check-In: Audit Who Has Access to You
    2026/07/27
Feeling behind does not always mean you stopped trying. Sometimes progress slows because the same people, patterns, and interruptions still have direct access to your time and energy.

In this TAS Moment, Dr. Teresa A. Smith challenges listeners to conduct a mid-year access audit. Examine who interrupts your direction, say what you have been withholding, and choose environments that support who you are becoming.

Belonging should not require silencing yourself to remain included. You are not starting over. You are tightening your circle.

Listen, identify one space where your voice has been quiet, and share this episode with someone protecting their progress. Take care of you.

  • You Did Not Lose Your Voice, You Outgrew the Room
    2026/07/20
Sometimes your idea is ignored until someone else repeats it. That moment can make you question your voice, delivery, and value when the deeper issue is that the room had already decided who it was willing to hear.

In this TAS Moment, Dr. Teresa A. Smith explains why repeatedly translating yourself for acceptance may signal misalignment. She encourages listeners to stop auditioning for basic respect, notice where their ideas are consistently dismissed, and move toward people who listen the first time.

You were never hard to understand. You may have simply outgrown the room.

Listen, notice who responds when you speak, and share this episode with someone who needs to stop proving their value in spaces committed to overlooking it. Take care of you.

  • How to Protect Your Peace at Family Gatherings
    2026/07/13
Returning home can bring old family roles, loaded questions, sideways comments, and expectations that make you feel as though you must defend your adult choices.

In this TAS Moment, Dr. Teresa A. Smith shares three ways to navigate difficult family gatherings: decide which conversations you will not entertain, use short and respectful boundary language, and limit your exposure with intention.

Family Systems Month reminds us that patterns can continue until someone chooses a different response. You can love your family, protect your confidence, and decide when to engage or step away.

Listen, prepare your boundaries before your next family visit, and share this episode with someone who needs permission to choose themselves while loving their family. Take care of you.

  • Approval Detox: Stop Auditioning for Your Own Life
    2026/07/06
Constantly adjusting yourself to gain acceptance can leave you emotionally exhausted. Emotional independence begins when you stop campaigning for approval and give yourself permission to protect your time, energy, and peace.

In this TAS Moment, Dr. Teresa A. Smith shares three ways to begin an approval detox: pause before answering requests, replace automatic yes responses with time to consider, and track how different relationships affect your energy.

Independence does not require removing everyone from your life. It may require releasing habits that keep you overextended, silent, or dependent on outside validation.

Listen, practice one boundary without overexplaining, and share this episode with someone learning to choose themselves without guilt. Take care of you.

  • Stop Shrinking and Start Using Your Voice
    2026/06/29
Changing your personality, softening your opinions, and apologizing for speaking may keep other people comfortable, but it can gradually disconnect you from your voice.

In this TAS Moment, Dr. Teresa A. Smith discusses voice courage and the daily decision to show up without making yourself smaller. She encourages listeners to state one personal boundary, replace apology language with ownership language, and complete one visible act of self-expression.

As Pride Month closes, authenticity remains part of everyday life. Your voice is not a disruption. It can help direct your choices, relationships, and growth.

Listen, use one sentence that reflects what you genuinely think or need, and share this episode with someone learning to show up more fully. Take care of you.

  • Juneteenth Freedom Is a Decision You Practice
    2026/06/22
Juneteenth recognizes freedom, but fear, silence, and self-censorship can continue shaping how people move through meetings, families, relationships, and public spaces.

In this TAS Moment, Dr. Teresa A. Smith encourages listeners to identify internalized limits, take one daily action that honors their voice, and build relationships that reflect their worth. Freedom also involves speaking up, establishing boundaries, sharing your story, and no longer asking permission to exist.

For daily grounding and support with strengthening your voice, read Empower Your Journey: 31-Day Meditation by Dr. TAS.

Listen, choose one action that reflects freedom, and share this episode with someone learning to use their voice. Take care of you.
