  • South Florida Surf Forecast April 12-14: 4-6 Foot Waves Palm Beach, High Rip Current Risk
    2026/04/12
Good morning, this is your South Florida surf zone forecast for Sunday, April 12th through Monday evening. A High Rip Current Risk remains in effect through Monday evening for the Atlantic beaches of Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties. If you're planning to hit the water, exercise extreme caution and always swim near a lifeguard. Let's start up north in Palm Beach, where surfers are looking at solid conditions with waves running four to six feet through Monday. The water temperature sits in the upper seventies, and you'll have mostly sunny skies with east winds at ten to fifteen miles per hour. Low tide comes in at ten forty-six this morning with a high at four fifty-five in the afternoon. The UV index is very high, so slather on that sunscreen. Tomorrow follows a similar pattern with the same four to six foot surf and mostly sunny weather. Heading south to Broward County and Fort Lauderdale, conditions are a bit smaller with three to five foot waves today and tomorrow. The water is slightly cooler in the mid seventies, but you'll still enjoy mostly sunny skies with east winds around fifteen miles per hour. The UV index remains very high. High tide at Miami Harbor Entrance hits five twenty-nine this afternoon, with low tide at eleven oh-five in the morning. Monday looks virtually identical with the same size waves and sunny conditions. Down in Miami-Dade, including the Miami beaches, expect three to five foot surf with mostly sunny skies and east winds around fifteen miles per hour. The water temperature is in the mid seventies. High tide comes at five twenty-nine this evening, with a low tide at eleven oh-five this morning. Monday brings high tide at six oh-two in the morning and low tide at eleven fifty-six in the midday. If you're on the Gulf Coast in Collier County around Naples and Marco Island, conditions are much more tranquil. Surf is one foot or less with sunny skies, east winds at ten to fifteen miles per hour, and water temperatures in the lower eighties today, warming to the mid eighties tomorrow. This area has a Low Rip Current Risk, making it perfect for families and beginner swimmers. Remember, no thunderstorms are expected over the next two days, and waterspout risk is minimal across the entire forecast area. Sunrise is around seven in the morning with sunset at seven forty-three. Get out there and enjoy the water, but respect those rip currents, especially on the Atlantic side. • South Florida Surf Forecast Tuesday Wednesday High Rip Current Risk Atlantic Beaches Calm Gulf Conditions
    2026/03/31
Good morning! Here's your South Florida surf zone forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday. Starting with the Atlantic beaches from Palm Beach down through Miami Dade, we're looking at a HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK that remains in effect through Friday evening. This is your heads up to exercise extra caution in the water. For today across Palm Beach, expect surf heights of 4 to 6 feet with mostly sunny skies and just a slight chance of showers. It's going to be a beautiful day with very high UV, so bring that sunscreen. Water temperatures are in the upper 70s, winds are light from the east around 10 miles per hour, and there's no thunderstorm potential. The high tide at Lake Worth Pier hits at 7:42 in the morning with a low tide at 1:51 in the afternoon. Sunrise is at 7:11 and you'll have daylight until 7:37 tonight. Moving down to Fort Lauderdale and Miami Dade beaches, we're seeing slightly smaller surf of 3 to 5 feet today. Same mostly sunny conditions with a slight chance of showers, very high UV index, and no thunderstorm activity expected. Winds here are a bit stronger, gusting to around 15 miles per hour from the east. Water temperatures sit in the mid 70s. High tide at Miami Harbor Entrance comes at 8:20 in the morning with low tide at 2:08 in the afternoon. Now if you're heading down to the Naples and Marco Island area on the Gulf side, conditions are much calmer. We've got low rip current risk and minimal surf, just 1 foot or less. It's mostly sunny with a chance of showers, very high UV, and light east winds around 10 miles per hour. Highs push into the lower 80s down there. Low tide at the north end of Naples Bay is at 6:47 in the morning with high tide at 12:53 in the afternoon. Looking ahead to Wednesday, the Atlantic beaches remain under that high rip current risk. Palm Beach will see surf dropping to around 3 feet with partly sunny skies and a slight chance of showers. Winds stay light from the east around 10 miles per hour. High tide is at 8:21 in the morning with low tide at 2:29 in the afternoon. Fort Lauderdale and Miami Dade will see smaller surf of 2 to 3 feet on Wednesday with partly sunny conditions and no rain expected. East winds run 10 to 15 miles per hour. High tide comes at 8:59 in the morning with low tide at 2:48 in the afternoon. Down in Collier County, Wednesday looks even nicer with mostly sunny skies, low rip current risk, and still just 1 foot or less of surf. Light east winds of 5 to 10 miles per hour and highs in the lower 80s. Low tide is at 7:23 in the morning with high tide at 1:15 in the afternoon. Remember, even with low rip current risk, life threatening rip currents can still form near groins, jetties, reefs, and piers, so stay aware out there. Have a great day at the beach! • Florida Beaches Brace for Chilly New Year's Eve: Rip Currents, Moderate Surf, and Sunny Skies Await Beachgoers
    2025/12/31
Surf's up, beach lovers! Get ready for a chilly yet sunny New Year's Eve along the Florida coastline. Palm Beach is looking at some serious rip current action today with a high-risk warning in effect until evening. Surfers and swimmers take note - those northwest winds around 10 mph are creating tricky conditions with surf heights hitting 1 to 2 feet. Water temperatures are sitting comfortably in the mid 70s, perfect for those brave souls who don't mind a little winter dip. The UV index is moderate, so sunscreen is still your beach buddy. Expect sunny skies and temperatures hovering in the mid 60s with a stunning sunrise at 7:08 AM and sunset painting the sky at 5:38 PM. Heading south to Broward and Miami-Dade, the surf scene looks similar but with slightly less intensity. Rip current risk drops to moderate today and low tomorrow, with consistent 1 to 2 foot waves and those same steady northwest winds. Water temperatures are cruising in the lower 70s, keeping things relatively comfortable. For our Naples and Marco Island beach enthusiasts, today brings a low rip current risk with similar wave conditions. Temperatures will be a bit cooler in the lower 60s, but sunshine is guaranteed. Winds will be north around 10 mph, shifting to a gentle northeast breeze tomorrow. Whether you're looking to catch some waves, soak up some sun, or just enjoy the coastal views, Florida's beaches are serving up a tranquil New Year's Eve forecast. Stay safe, watch those currents, and welcome 2026 with some beach vibes!
