In today's homily, Fr. Ino reminds us that faith is deeply personal, but "never meant to be private." A loving relationship with Jesus must lead us beyond ourselves towards others.

Christ promises, "Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am in their midst," show us that faith is lived in community and not isolation. A privatized faith focuses only on personal comfort, prayer or salvation while overlooking one's neighbour. Yet every life is connected: "No faith is an Island."

The commandments find their fulfilment in loving others. Fr Ino therefore invites us to pray not merely for ourselves, but for the person beside us, because authentic faith embraces God and one another.

Fr. Simon reflects on today’s gospel where Jesus calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Him. We naturally avoid suffering, yet our crosses—illness, ageing, financial struggles or relationship difficulties—can become opportunities for deeper faith.

Rather than only asking God to remove our burdens, we can ask for grace, strength and a changed mindset to embrace them faithfully. Following Christ requires a change in mindset: surrendering our own desires, trusting God’s purpose, and responding to difficulties with faith, sacrifice and love.

Faith, he reminds us, "doesn't mean that we will have answers to all our questions," but trusting God even when we do not understand. At the heart of the Gospel is Jesus' personal question: "Who do you say I am?" Fr. Sikstus invites us to move from knowing about Jesus to truly knowing Him - from information to relationship, and ultimately, "from relationship to mission."
