They say that when your world turns upside down, you have to find a constant to keep you moving in a positive direction. For me, that constant has been Dungeons & Dragons. After facing the hardest year of my life—losing my home, my marriage, and my career—I found that the only place I didn't feel like I was in a dark spot was at the gaming table.

This podcast is the audio home of my weekly livestreams, featuring the "Steal to Save" campaign. Set in the gritty streets of Baldur’s Gate just before the events of Baldur's Gate 3, we follow a band of unlikely heroes (and my own DMPC, Thistle Thorogood) as they navigate a city gripped by a mysterious plague and the rising "Baldur's Gate for Baldurians" political agenda. As a student of anthropology and a political commentator, I bring those perspectives to the DM screen, exploring how we build communities and process our own pain through the characters we play. Whether you’re a long-time player or someone looking for a reason to get to your first table, I hope these stories enrich your life the way they’ve enriched mine.

    The Legality of Corruption
The heist was just the beginning. After narrowly escaping the Shattershield estate with the life-saving elixir, our party retreats to a safe house to lick their wounds and uncover the truth behind the ambush. In this episode:
    • A Safe Haven with Secrets: The party takes refuge in A'Liss's gadget-filled abode, complete with hidden rooms and experimental prototypes.
    • The Prisoner’s Tale: An interrogation of a captured guard reveals a shocking betrayal. It turns out the party wasn't just unlucky; they were expected—and the orders came directly from the Shattershield heir, Duren.
    • The Infernal Signature: A mysterious gold amulet found on the prisoner pulses with weighted magic. Upon closer inspection, it reveals a terrifying connection to the Archdevil Zariel and a contract that reaches the highest levels of Baldur's Gate.
    • A Race Against Time: While the cure is delivered to the clerics in the Outer City, the group realizes the plague may be a mere smokescreen for a much more sinister infernal plot involving the Vanthampur family.
Who can be trusted when the city’s elite are signing away souls for power? And what is the true purpose of the "gate passage" mentioned in the guard's contract?

Session 1 - The Heist & Meeting New Allies
    2026/02/04
The heist is on! Our party—Thistle the silver-tongued thief, Alice the Grung artificer, and Fra the Bard—are joined by some new (and terrifyingly powerful) allies to recover a cure for the plague ravaging the Outer City.In this episode:
    • New Faces, New Powers: We meet Leyola, a Tiefling with a deadly secret, Luadiin the enigmatic Druid, and Campf, a Cleric who might be a bit out of his depth.
    • The Upper City Sting: The party navigates the gated communities of the elite, only to find their "unlocked" entrance is anything but.
    • The "IKEA" of Magic: A storage room filled with mundane items that radiate overwhelming magic and outfits that seem tailored for our heroes.
    • Chaos in the Hallway: What was supposed to be a stealth mission turns into a brutal showdown with Patriarch guards. Heads roll, stars fall, and A'Liss shows everyone what a 10-foot frog can really do.
Who is "DS"? Why were the guards ready for them? And how is Campf going to explain this to his dad?

This past year was the hardest I've ever faced, but the one constant that kept me moving in a positive direction was Dungeons & Dragons
. I’m finally ready to get back behind the DM screen to share that magic with you in my new campaign: Steal to Save: A Baldur’s Gate Heist.

In this Session Zero, I’m introducing you to a version of Baldur’s Gate gripped by a mysterious plague and the rising political tension of the Shattershield family. You’ll meet our first band of unlikely heroes—a Grung artificer and a Tiefling bard—as we set the stage for a heist where the stakes are life and death. For me, getting back to the table is about more than just a game; it’s about fostering the community and fulfillment that helped me through my darkest times
