Marvel's new five-issue Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge -- Echoes of the Empire debuts this week, with a story that spans the Saga timeline yet zeroes in on events between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as Luke, Leia, Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2 travel to Black Spire on Batuu. Written by Ethan Sacks, who's an old hand at plotting real-world aligned stories such as these (Galaxy's Edge, Halcyon Legacy), illustrated by Jethro Morales and Roi Mercado, colored by Rachelle Rosenberg and lettered by VC's Clayton Cowles, the first issue starts strong, hitting the right beats with a crafted blend of nostalgia for the Original Trilogy while proliferating The High Republic and Sequel Trilogy, too. News:Ethan Sacks is signing Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge -- Echoes of the Empire #1 (of 5) at Midtown Comics Grand Central in NYC on April 22 at 5 p.m. local time.The Mace Windu Hyperspace Stories OGN is now set for release in 2079 (at least on Amazon) after its listing details were pulled from PRH, Edelweiss and others.Marvel's July solicits (Shadow of Maul #5, Echoes of the Empire #4, Rogue One -- Saw Gerrera) are due out later this week, along with Dark Horse's August solicits (Pathfinders #5).Marvel's Star Wars Legends The Clone Wars Omnibus is set for release on Jan. 19.
