  • A Prophet Without Honour | Jason Lawton | Mark 6:1-16
    2025/03/20

Jason brings us back to our series in Mark, showing Jesus’ power over all things, and the questions that caused for those around about who he really was. Will we look with grace upon people as they can be, or consign them in condemnation to what they have been? Will we humble ourselves to hear from God through whatever means He chooses to use?

We hope that this message encourages you, and equips you to follow Jesus. Please get in touch with us if there’s anything we can help you with, or pray with you for.

  • Words | Simon Watkinson
    2024/06/24

Simon begins our new series, looking at a well rounded sense of mission, involving our Words, Works, and Wonders.

He goes on to show how Jesus used his words powerfully, sent his disciples to speak of him, and then the Holy Spirit empowered the early church to proclaim his good news with boldness.

Our prayer is that you would make known the mystery and glory of the gospel with your words - let us know how you get on!

  • Wonders | Simon Watkinson
    2024/06/24

Simon concludes our series — Words, Works, and Wonders: Living on Mission Today — by drawing our attention to the supernatural wonders which God brings about.

He traces this back through all the Bible, on into church history, and up to the present time. He urges us not to fall into common traps when dealing with the miraculous, and to see how God wants us to work with him to see these things come about, for God's glory.

Simon reminds us, to close, how these dimensions of mission are intended to work together, to build a rich picture of God's goodness and give a full understanding of his nature.

We hope this talk, and series, spurs you to find out more about Jesus or to help others find out more about him. Let us know how you get on, or if we can be any help.

  • Works | Simon Watkinson
    2024/06/18

Simon continues our series — Words, Works, and Wonders: Living on Mission Today — by focussing on works of service, acts of compassion, and a lifestyle of love.

He shows how Jesus is the ultimate servant, the early church instinctively met needs, and the church through history has prioritised loving service. And then inspires us to think how we can show the gospel today, through hospitality, generosity, and service.

We hope this inspires you to a life of gospel works, added to your words. Let us know if we can support you in that in any way.

  • Expect the Unexpected | Jason Lawton | Mark 3:20-30
    2024/05/07

Jason speaks about following what the Holy Spirit is doing, even when that's unexpected or unpredicted. From our passage he shows us two groups who didn't see what the Holy Spirit was doing, with two different motives and outcomes.

Jason goes on to talk about the 'unforgiveable sin' and 'coming back to repentance' from Hebrews 6, showing that it is something impossible for a sincere believer in Jesus. We hope that this, in particular, brings you relief and encouragement, as you seek to follow Jesus with all yoru heart.
