Splash Stories Ben Steadman & Diamond Dave caught up with UK Hip-Hop/Electronic dance pioneers The Stereo MC's ahead of their True To Life Tour of UK and Ireland through December & January 2026.

Fans can expect to hear tracks from across the Brit Award-winning act's acclaimed seven studio albums, including 33, Supernatural, Connected, Double Bubble Deep Down & Dirty as well as touching on some of the collaborations they've done over the last 10 years.”

Rob was in fine flow and touched on the early Gee Street Days with Jon Baker which was when Ben first met him, his Island Records days and the old skool ways.

This tour celebrates their legacy and the life of Owen If (Ian Rossiter) one of Rob's oldest friends, a brother, comrade and the original Stereo Mc’s Rhythm Doctor.

Splash Stories hosts Ben Steadman & Diamond Dave caught up with Billie and Charlotte from The Subways before they hit the road to celebrate their 20th anniversary UK & European tour - The Subways For Eternity.

The pair of them were on great form and are revved up to rock out on the road following their instore tour promoting the releases of their single I Need to Feel You Closer and their compilation album When I'm With You earlier this month.

We cover their early days getting started in Welwyn Garden City, winning an unsigned bands competition to secure a slot on the Other Stage at Glastonbury, recording with producer Ian Broudie of the Lightning Seeds, Rock & Roll Queen, their first time in America on The OC, David Letterman, hard core riffs, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Head Automatica, Angels and Airwaves and finishing off nailing the writing of Girls and Boys in soundcheck in Long Beach then working with Butch Vig and Stephen Street. Before Billie's move into the producers chair, mental health, lyric writing and getting a literature degree.

Splash Stories hosts Ben Steadman & Diamond Dave had the pleasure to talk with John Wardle aka Jah Wobble ahead of his tour. Wobble was the original bass player in Public Image Ltd (PiL) and his Invaders of the Heart charted with the inimitable and wonderful Sinead O'Connor with Visions of You .

Splash Stories welcomes vocalist and art historian David McAlmont for our June edition.

David left the UK in 1978 when his family moved to Guyana in South America skipping the whole punk rock scene completely in the process before returning to read performing arts at Middlesex Polytechnic.

His music career kicked off when he signed a publishing contract with Chrysalis Music in 1992 and gained recognition with London band Thieves. He then went solo securing a record deal with Virgin's Hut Records in 1994 and It was at this time that McAlmont performed live at The Splash Club to critical acclaim. Music Newspaper Melody Maker journalist Taylor Parkes commented at the time : "One day he will open his mouth and a cathedral will fall out."

We caught up with David to celebrate his past work with Bernard Butler and to discuss his new album Twilight with one of Splash Stories previous guests Hifi Sean. This summer sees David also playing Wall to Wall Bowie live on Aug 10 at Ronnie Scott's London.
