Splash Stories summer celebrates Rebellion Festival's 30th anniversary which runs 4-9 August 2026 & is the UK's largest independent punk festival.

My co-host Diamond Dave recorded a pre -festival I/V with Altered Images' Clare Grogan who plays The Rebellion Festival run up show on 4th August and we feature Jennie Russell-Smith - the co-founder and director of the Rebellion Festival on how the hell it can be 30 years old already.

Rebellion features over 300 live acts, literary events and a marketplace in Blackpool Winter Gardens. Catch up with Diamond Dave onsite.

Splash Stories Festival Feature honours this milestone with a Splash Stories podcast every week in August featuring artists performing at the Rebellion Festival.

This will be followed with a Splash Stories podcast special on August 8th with The Buzzcocks Steve Diggle and The Godfathers Peter Coyne.

The final Splash Stories Special podcast on Rebellion Festival will feature a double header with Spear of Destiny and Theatre of Hate legend Kirk Brandon and Roman Jugg of The Damned.

On a personal note as a punk rocker in my youth, naturally Rebellion is close to my heart...my first ever live gig as a 13 yr old teenager was the Stranglers Raven Tour followed by The Damned's Machine Gun Etiquette tour ...& later played drums & toured with Chelsea, Big Life Casino, Atom Seed offshoot Chaosphere & others.

Throughout the 90's The Splash Club at The Water Rats promoted and supported The Only Ones Peter Perret, The Adverts, TV Smith, Snuff, 10 pole Tudor, Rough Trade Records parties, Glen Matlock, Paul Weller, The Stranglers & hosted Lydon as our guest on several occasions.
