  • How to Date God's Way | Brad Straarup
    2026/08/31

Dating isn't your problem. Deciding is.

You don't have a shortage of options... you have an infinite amount of them. One more swipe. One more app. One more profile. And somewhere in there we stopped asking "is this someone I can build a life with?" and started asking "could there be someone better one swipe away?"

In Week 4 of our series, It's Complicated, Brad talks to singles about how to date God's way — and reminds married people they never actually stopped dating.

But before the how, hear this: singleness is not a curse to be solved.

It's an opportunity for impact. Paul wished everyone were single, because an unmarried person can move. Our God, named Jesus, changed the whole world — and He did it single. You don't need to find a person to find your purpose. So don't let a waiting season become a wasted season.

Then Brad gets practical. There's not one verse in the Bible about finding the right one, but there's a whole lot about becoming the right one — before Ruth and Boaz ever found each other, she was already a woman of noble character and he was already a man of standing. He throws out the old list and gives a new one. He names seven red flags, because red flags are warnings, not accessories — they don't turn green, they get more red. And he defines what dating actually is: a process to move through, not a status to sit in.

Because you never actually find the one. You choose someone. And the choosing is what makes them the one.

Love isn't a feeling you fall into. It's a choice you keep making.

    That's what covenant is.

  • How to Be a Godly Woman | Brad Straarup
    2026/08/24

There's nothing wrong with him. And there's nothing wrong with you.

You've spent years thinking he was broken. He isn't broken — he's male. He's spent years thinking you were broken. You aren't broken — you're female.

God designed you opposite each other on purpose, before sin ever entered the picture.

In Week 3 of our series, "It's Complicated," Brad talks directly to the women — and gives the men a picture of who they're called to love and lead.

When God said "I will make a helper," the Hebrew word is Ezer — a word God uses for Himself. "My help comes from the Lord."

Eve wasn't given to Adam because he was lonely. She was given because he was insufficient for the assignment.

And the word that follows, Kenegdo, means corresponding to him — face to face. Not above him. Not beneath him. Not behind him. Across from him.

Then sin distorted the design. Brad walks through the four mistakes Eve made in Genesis 3 that women still get pulled into today:

    • The wrong voice
    • The wrong focus
    • The wrong desire
    • The wrong order

"Did God really say?" is still the oldest question in the room.
But Jesus died to break the pattern and bring us back to the Garden. Brad closes with four practical marks of a godly wife:

    • She gives respect
    • She gives help
    • She prioritizes her marriage over everything but Christ
    • She builds her home

Stop demonizing God's design. Start walking in it.

You were never just the reward for the mission. You're part of how the mission gets done.

  • How to Be a Godly Man | Brad Straarup
    2026/08/17

    Adam was standing right there.

When the serpent showed up in the Garden, Adam wasn't off somewhere else. Scripture says he was with her and he said nothing. A lot of what men carry today traces back to a man who went silent when it was his job to speak.

In Week 2 of our series, It's Complicated, Brad talks directly to the men — and gives the women a biblical standard to look for.

Before Eve was ever in the picture, God gave Adam a work to produce, a place to protect, and a Word to preserve. Before a companion, he got a commandment. Before a woman, he got a Word.

Then sin distorted the design. Brad walks through the four traps Adam fell into that men still fall into today: he was silent, he hid, he blamed, and he struggled with work. And that last one cuts both ways — the workaholic and the man on the couch are not two different problems. They're the same curse with two different symptoms.

If you're hiding something... the browser history, the second account, the debt she doesn't know about, the pornography no one is naming — this message calls it into the light.

But we don't have to follow our great-great-great-grandfather Adam. We can follow the second Adam. Adam was silent; Jesus spoke. Adam hid; Jesus stepped out. Adam blamed his bride; Jesus took the blame for His.

Men, you're not in a waiting room. You're in a weight room. God is forming you.

Manhood begins when you stop waiting for somebody else to take responsibility.
