It’s tempting to daydream about how much better your life would be if you lived somewhere else, worked somewhere else, were married to someone else. Is that true though? Even if you found something better, wouldn’t you just still be you in a different location or situation? How do you become the best version of you regardless of where you are? What if the solution isn’t uprooting, but digging deeper right where you’re at?

There’s an old saying, “God works in mysterious ways.” And that’s certainly true, not only of the Christmas story, but of the stories behind the songs of Christmas. God often does things in ways we’d never think to do them, using people we’d never think to use.
