This is the part two episode of the Opioid Addict episode. I finish reading a few more juicy journal entries and ugly cry some more. Then I give my advice and suggestions on how to cope and heal with being an addict or being affected by an addict. Setting boundaries and sticking to them is hard. Being on the receiving end of the boundary line is also hard. Ultimately my message is that we all have the ability to make others' lives easier or harder. It's really that simple. You are only responsible for your own actions and happiness, remember that.

If you are struggling with addiction, remember these words straight from my journal written on Wednesday July 17, 2019. Read this to yourself out loud or silently, write it down, let it resonate with you, let it soak into your soul.

This episode is extremely personal and rather intense. I openly share the pain and struggles I endured in the beginning of my recovery and navigating being sober for the first time in a long time. I read a little from the journal I started the day I came home from detox almost four years ago. This July I will be celebrating the anniversary of taking my life back and recovering from my severe opioid addiction. I really hope that sharing and airing my dirty laundry will give others the courage and strength to take control back of their lives. The road wasn't easy, but it was SO worth it.
