  • Episode 10 - Somewhere In Between with Coach Mulls and The Coop-Guest-Ed Marinaro-Football Star-TV and Movie Star
    2020/12/10
This is a very entertaining podcast and it is up in audio and video. "Somewhere In Between" with Coach Mulls and the Coop welcomes Ed Marinaro, former running back for the Minnesota Vikings, the New York Jets with Joe Namath and Seattle Seahawks. Ed was a runner up for the Heisman Trophy out of, believe it or not, Cornell University where his career and season stats set records for a running back as the BEST running back in college football history. His records held up in all of college football for 3 decades. In all Marinaro set 16 NCAA records at Cornell. Marinaro was inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame in 1991 For you young footballers, Marinaro is a star of the hit TV show "Blue Mountain State" as he plays the coach in the show, Coach Marty Daniels. Marinaro's role is one of the most popular coaches in TV history especially with the college crowds over the last decade. Marinaro also starred in several other movies and TV series including as Officer Joe Coffey in Hill Street Blues, Joey Buttafuoco in the Amy Fisher Story, and as a regular on Laverne and Shirley. HIGHLIGHT: Ed has a son (Eddie) who went through his senior season in high school this fall as a QB in South Carolina. He is headed in his father's footsteps to play collegiately at Cornell. During the podcast Ed goes into some depth with the struggles with his son's development and ultimately the recruiting process in a troubled year for football. Very interesting and informative. This is a great podcast for everyone who is not only interested in Ed's career in college, the NFL and as a very successful Hollywood actor currently on a great run with the TV series "Blue Mountain State" as Coach Marty Daniels, and iconic character for the 35 and under age bracket, AND his very normal existence as a high school football dad. Enjoy.
