 Even today with everything we know, abuse is still a taboo subject. There is a stigma attached that suggests that those who are abused are weak. This could not be further from the truth. Shatter the Silence was set up after an afternoon out. We discovered that we had both experienced abuse at the hands of someone we trusted. The podcast is here to blow the lid off the stigma and start proper conversations.     Today we go a bit more in depth into the history of one of Shatter the Silence's founders.

    Rebecca has come from a long term abusive relationship and its become really important to her to talk openly about it. From emotional abuse to gaslighting, manipulation and a terrifying moment which left her bruised and bloody, she has opened up to share her experiences, but also to reassure you that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

    You just have to keep going.

    Shatter the Silence is a podcast that gives a voice to everyone affected by abuse. We share real life stories, resources and work hard to campaign for action to help change perceptions.

    As two women who have both experienced abuse, we wanted to create a safe space where everyone can be part of a movement to stop the stigma and begin an open conversation directed towards change.
