Donald Copeland is back at Seton Hall as an assistant coach — his third stint with the program, having played point guard there from 2002 to 2006 and previously served as an assistant. A standout player who scored over 700 points and dished more than 200 assists, Copeland led his senior team in scoring and earned accolades. His most recent role as Wagner’s head coach saw remarkable success: first NCAA Tournament appearance in 21 years, a historic NEC Championship won on the road, and their first-ever tournament win. Now returning to Seton Hall, Copeland brings proven experience in building winning programs and navigating high-stakes games — and fans are eager to see how he helps reignite the Pirates’ postseason momentum.

Elijah Fisher, Seton Hall’s rock last season, is back on campus and officially enrolled — just in time to lead the 2026-27 Pirates. Granted a temporary restraining order by a California judge, he’s cleared to play his fifth year, bringing invaluable Big East experience and defensive grit to a team rebuilding after losing most of its starters. A versatile force who thrived at power forward despite being a wing, Fisher’s return adds continuity and depth as the Pirates max out at 15 scholarships. Coach Holloway now faces tough decisions on rotation, especially with new talent expected to challenge for minutes. While his full eligibility remains pending, Fisher’s immediate presence offers a huge boost of leadership and familiarity as Seton Hall gears up for the grind ahead.

Donald Copeland is back at Seton Hall as an assistant coach under Shaheen Holloway, marking a surprising return after his departure from Wagner amid player mistreatment allegations — claims Seton Hall reportedly found unfounded. With Holloway prioritizing defense and physicality, Copeland’s deep Big East knowledge, familiarity with the Pirates’ culture, and proven success as a player, assistant, and head coach make him a strategic fit. Despite a past tense moment between the two, they’ve since reconciled — even scheduling another game — and now Copeland brings invaluable experience to Holloway’s staff as they aim for another NCAA Tournament run.
