Matthew’s journey is an incredible example of progression through the apprenticeship route.
From leaving school and starting as a CAD Technician Apprentice at Doosan Babcock, to now working on major packages in the defence sector, his story is packed with valuable insights.
Along the way, Matthew completed his HNC and HND at Glasgow Clyde College, earned a BEng (Hons) in Electrical Power Engineering, and recently finished an MSc while working full-time.
Matthew has been recognised with prestigious honours including being elected as a Whitworth Scholar.
In this episode, Matthew reflects on his career journey, from pharmaceuticals to nuclear defence and shares advice for parents, educators, and young people exploring engineering as a career path.
