このコンテンツについて

Security is often seen through the lens of a CCTV camera, the latest biometrics to get through a door or the use of AI to spot anomalies, but security isn't just about that, it's as much to do with understanding organisations, analysing data and engaging with risk owners. Security - It's Not All About Technology, explores security issues beyond the very public face of security and to allow Aidan Anderson, a seasoned security professional to show his experiences with you.Aidan 経済学

  • Protective Security - It's More Than Just The Latest Prefix For Security
    2025/06/11

For anyone who undertook their security training over 40 years ago, it was probably built on the notion of Protective Security, which integrated the core elements of Personnel, Information and Physical Security into a single package, rather than seeing them as separate component parts.

With the rise and dominance of Cyber Security and the Physical Security industry seemingly dominating Physical Security, the concept of Protective Security seemed to have taken a back seat, until now.

In this podcast, Protective Security and what it is, is set out and why it is needed now in the dynamic world in which we live and work. But to be effective, Protective Security, has to be effectively managed within a Risk and Governance framework as it is only this that can bring a positive effect to managing security and proving its worth within any organisation.

  • A New Era of Sabotage
    2025/04/23

Sabotage is probably as old as conflict itself as armies tried to destroy an enemies warlike stores and their means of production. Throughout the Cold War period, it was known that the Soviet Union and the Warsaw pact were heavily engaged in preparing for sabotage activities across NATO countries and would have engaged in that should that war have ever have turned hot.

With the end of the Cold War however, sabotage seemed to have slipped into the background and maybe not thought about, beyond the effects of what any protest groups or disgruntled employees might have had. However, with Russia's invasion of Ukraine and as they have tried to bring political pressure to bear on the West, Russia is engaging in sabotage activities, from the destruction of Ikea stores to the severing of subsea cables in the Baltic Sea.

This podcast sets out some of the issues and takes Sabotage beyond it's final kinetic act and brings in espionage that is necessary for the targeting of individual facilities and wider networks and the use of subversion to undermine public support.

Dealing with sabotage requires a whole of organisation approach and as the podcast brings out has Resilience at its core.
