  • Fossil Evidence for Evolution? part 1 - SC2516
    2025/06/28

Fossil evidence for evolution. Evolutionists claim that the fossil record provides the most fundamental evidence that evolution occurred. If evolution did indeed occur, we would expect evidence for this to permeate all levels of investigation in the fossil record - from first glance to the finest details. Assuming the fossil record represents long ages, examples of intermediate species in evolutionary transition should be found captured in the rock layers. But is this actually what we see?

  • Fossils and Archaeology part 3 - SC2515
    2025/06/21

Fossils and archaeology. Evolutionary assumptions place fossil formation millions of years in the past. However, fossils themselves present some problems with this assumption. Many palaeontologists have now been able to extract soft tissues from fossils, such as proteins, DNA, collagen, red blood cells and haemoglobin. These molecules are very delicate and degrade in 20,000 years or less in average conditions. This evidence is completely at odds with long age theories. Soft tissue molecules, such as DNA, also provide evidence that directly challenges conventional thought about species evolution.

  • Fossils & Archaeology part 2 - SC2514
    2025/06/14

The fossil record presents some stunning realities about what life was like on earth in the past. The diversity of life species was extraordinary compared to what we have today. Fossils also tell a story of massive extinction. And the way the fossil record has preserved evidence of these countless different species can only be conceivable through catastrophic conditions. If at first the fossil record seemed to indicate long age rock layer and fossil formation by gradual processes, the evidence that has now accumulated calls this into serious question.

  • Fossils & Archaeology part 1 - SC2513
    2025/06/07

The fossil record is considered to be the primary foundational evidence that validates evolution. Geologists have thought it seems to paint a picture of long ages and slow gradual processes in which species grew to be more complex over time. This perspective was a foundational viewpoint for Darwin when he developed his evolutionary theory. But is this the picture the fossil record really paints of the past? Are there clues in the fossil record that suggest what happening in the past was very different?

  • What Evidence is There for Evolution? part 3 - SC2512
    2025/05/31

Brand new genetic code needs to be produced for the evolution of new species and types of organisms to occur. This is essential if a bacteria is to become a yeast, a fish to become a salamander or lizard, or for a flying dinosaur to become a bird. How much new and unique genetic code actually needs to be produced to explain the diversity seen in nature? What is the probability of this occurring? What are the implications of distinction trends and processes resulting in a loss of genetic information?

  • What Evidence is There for Evolution? part 2 - SC2511
    2025/05/24

Evolution that arises from the production of new and viable genetic information is an essential underpinning of Darwin's theory. Richard Dawkins in his book "The Greatest Show on Earth: Evidence for Evolution" provides evidence for this kind of evolution occurring. What does this evidence show? What type of evidence does it provide? What are the implications of this on Darwinian evolution?

  • What Evidence is There For Evolution? pt 1 - SC2510
    2025/05/17

Evolution is a broad term that is applied to different processes of change and development within an organism. It is critical to understand the different types of evolution that occur, and the significance, implications and evidence for each, in order to clarify evolutionary theory. In this discussion, the three types of evolution are defined and explained with examples, as the question is examined "Can new types of organisms arise by random mutations?

  • How Did Life Form on Earth? part 3 - SC2509
    2025/05/10

How did life on earth start? Even the simplest cells are extremely complex. With thousands of molecules involved that have to be in just the right conformation, concentration, and sequence, just getting all the necessary parts of a cell together is an impossible feat. But even if you had all of this, the cell wouldn't be alive. What would it take for the cell to start living? What would it take to stay alive? How probable is it for this to happen by chance?
