The Sao Paulo Brazil Temple is the first temple built in South America, President Kimball announced that there would be a temple built there at the beginning of an area conference. Church members were so excited they donated and sacrificed a lot to contribute to the construction, some even volunteered to make over 50,000 cement blocks for the exterior.
