It's a matter of life or death for people like Sam Lowe who battled type 1 Diabetes since the age of 12 and ultimately became the recipient of both a kidney and pancreas. A beautiful soul in her 20s gave Sam the ultimate gift- his life.
What's it like to know you are gonna die? What's it like to live with someone's organs in you? What is life like post transplant? What are the thoughts one has through the process? How does a spouse cope? This and so much more were covered when I sat down with Sam and his wife Joanne.
PS- we drank whiskey, laughed, enjoyed sausage, and some of us even cried a little.
