We're proud to kick off our SFFilm 2025 coverage with a very Bay centered short film!
After What Happened at the Library is a fictional story based on the real events that took place in 2022 when Kyle Casey Chu, a drag queen, was attacked by Proud Boys spouting homophobic and transphobic slurs at the popular Drag Story Hour at the San Lorenzo Library. We're joined by co-writer Róisín Isner and co-writer/actor Kyle Casey Chu (aka Panda Dulce) to discuss the origins of Drag Story Hour, the two-part trauma of becoming public victims and then political puppets, and why it's important to be aware of how we consume the news.
