  • 3. Building a Brand That Feels Like You with Alex Lowery
    2025/07/15

In today’s episode, I’m flying solo to talk about one of my all-time favorite topics: building a brand that truly feels like you. If you’ve ever struggled with making your business feel personal and aligned with your real life (chaos and all), this one’s for you.

I walk you through how I’ve built and blended multiple brands, from Middle of the Field Media to Sweet Bliss Candy Company to Rural Changemakers, and how I’ve learned to bring my personal story, quirks, and values into each one.

This episode is a heart-to-heart about the why behind branding, how your story is your biggest asset, and why consistency doesn’t mean boring, it means authentic.

  • 2. From Bedtime Stories to Published Books: Karen Miller Talks Self-Publishing, Community, and Creative Collaboration
    2025/07/15

In today’s episode, I sit down with one of my closest friends and collaborator, Karen Miller, to talk about her journey of bringing Delta Born Books to life with her mom. This episode explores what it means to be a rural changemaker through action and a love for community.

Karen shares the origin of Delta Born Books, which began with her mother's imaginative stories for her grandson and grew into children’s books with Karen creating the illustrations. She also shares the joys of working alongside her mom as an author-illustrator team, navigating the self-publishing process, and the powerful community support that helped bring the books to life.

The conversation also delves into their latest release, Oki's Grove, a moving story inspired by the devastating tornado that struck Rolling Fork, Mississippi. Illustrated by two young survivors of the storm, the book carries a message of hope, resilience, and the importance of community.
