Grandfather had 4 sons. Grandfather was a farmer and poor. Hunting for meat was mandatory. In this family, there were traditions associated with hunting either individually or as a group.

I think it important to share these traditions of these men when hunting really was for meat and not sport.

Some traditions are funny, well most are but under it all, there was a united family tradition: hunting.

A memory of what a County Fair was like in Shenandoah County Virginia in the late 1950's.

But the real focus of this memory story is about the Carnival Hootchy Coochie tent and what happened there after dark.

When it got dark, a large tent set a good distance away from the fair carnival midway was lite up with bright lights and Carnival Hootchy Coochie women would dance on a stage in suggestive clothing and a barker would say that if you bought a ticket to the inside of the tent, you could see these beautiful women take off all their clothes.

And now, years later I describe it and wonder who were these women and where did they come from and other questions. Just a fun memory and ponder.

A short story about a crow and a woman and how he wants to "own" her. A crow or a man? The woman scares him and he bolts and flies and clams and comes back to her again but at a safe viewing distance. Why is he so afraid of this woman? Why is his ownership of her so strong?

Finally, the old crow has to get close and her words pour down over him and he can see that she only sees him for the old crow or man, he is and the thought helps him and he flies away.

But now and again, when he just sits and watches from high above, the memory of her invades his mind and once again, he really wants to own her.

Ron Stultz reads the final chapters of this unpublished short story, "The Urge" After having to deal with Ming most of the night, she finally leaves John as she has decided his is "bad luck" and instead of heading home, goes back to gamble some more.

John and Molly are another matter entirely and with Molly encouraging him to take model photos of her nude, they head to his penthouse suite.

"Urges" some sort of sudden "action" emotion or mind state. Can be a good urge or a bad urge and when does urge become an addiction.
