In this episode, Coach Waugh and Dr. Rhonda Boggi create space for something nurses do not hear often enough:

    Thank you. We see you.

Nurses are frequently asked, Can you help? Can you stay? Can you cover? Can you handle this? But behind every capable nurse is a human being who may also be carrying exhaustion, grief, family responsibilities, health concerns, and pressures no one else can see. We See You

Coach Waugh and Dr. Rhonda explore how strength can quietly become expectation. Being dependable does not mean being endlessly available, and being compassionate does not mean you never need compassion yourself. We See You

They also speak directly to the tired nurse who may still love nursing but feels overwhelmed by the pace, pressure, or system. The invitation is simple: notice yourself too. What is your body saying? What is your mind saying? What have you normalized because you have been surviving it for so long? We See You

    • The invisible emotional work nurses carry
    • Why strength can sometimes become an unfair expectation
    • Giving yourself permission to rest and recover
    • Why restoration is part of the assignment
    • Recognizing when you need support
    • Nursing identity beyond the bedside
    • Carrying your wisdom into a new chapter
    • Seeing and supporting other nurses before they feel invisible

The episode closes with three powerful reflection questions:

When was the last time you acknowledged what you have been carrying?

What kind of support would make this season feel lighter?

Who is one nurse you can remind this week, “I see you”?

In this episode, you’ll hear about:Coach Waugh and Dr. Rhonda also invite nurses to connect with Nurse Thrive Magazine, created from their years of nursing experience as a place of support, encouragement, and connection. Resilience Does Not Mean Enduring Unlimited Strain

Restoration. Boundaries. Support. The Capacity to Continue Safely.

In this episode of Rise to Thrive™: Reclaiming Your Resilience, Coach Waugh and Dr. Rhonda challenge a familiar idea in nursing and healthcare:

Resilience does not mean seeing how much pressure you can absorb before you break.

Healthcare professionals become very good at continuing. You keep showing up when you are tired, grieving, short-staffed, caring for family, and carrying more than most people ever see. But survival was never meant to become your permanent operating system.

This conversation explores what real resilience can look like when it includes restoration, boundaries, support, recovery, and the ability to continue safely.

You’ll hear Coach Waugh and Dr. Rhonda discuss:

    • why capable does not always mean available
    • recognizing when survival mode has become normal
    • why boundaries are not rejection
    • the importance of saying, “I need help,” “I need rest,” or “I need to leave on time”
    • why restoration should be part of the system, not a reward after everything is finished
    • how support and loving accountability can help us move forward
    • the difference between shame and healthy accountability
    • rediscovering who you are beyond the uniform, title, and professional role
    • giving yourself permission to grow, change direction, and enter a new season

One of the most important reminders from the episode is that restoration cannot wait until everything is done, because there may always be another patient, another responsibility, another deadline, or another person who needs something. Restoration has to become part of how you live, not merely what happens after complete exhaustion.

Coach Waugh and Dr. Rhonda also talk candidly about how difficult it can be for strong people to receive support. Sometimes resilience looks like admitting, “I need somebody beside me right now.” And sometimes support includes accountability from someone who cares enough to ask what needs to change. The conversation eventually moves beyond nursing itself and asks a deeper question:

Who are you beyond the white coat?

You had dreams before the credentials. Gifts before the license. Interests before the profession became such a large part of your identity. Nursing can remain part of who you are without being all of who you are.

    Reflection Questions

Take these four questions with you:

Where have I confused endurance with resilience?

What is draining me faster than I can recover?

What boundary, support, or restoration do I need now?

Who am I becoming beyond the role everyone depends on me to play? Resilience Beyond the White Coat

You do not have to solve everything today.

    Maybe you need one boundary.

    One conversation.

    One appointment.

    One hour of restoration.

    One request for help.

    And remember:

“You do not have to break in order to prove that you are resilient.”

Sometimes resilience is resting. Sometimes it is rebuilding. Sometimes it is reaching for another hand. Sometimes it is changing direction. And sometimes it is giving yourself permission to become whole again.Closing Reminder

    Your wellbeing matters too.

    You deserve support.

    You deserve restoration.

    You deserve room to breathe.

And you deserve the opportunity to build a life that does not require you to disappear in order to care for everyone else. Resilience Beyond the White Coat

Keep rising. Keep restoring. Keep protecting what matters. And keep reclaiming the resilience that allows you not simply to survive, but to thrive beyond the white coat.

Because the truth is, when occupancy drops, the pressure does not stay in one place. It hits revenue. Payroll. Staffing. Confidence. Decision-making. And before long, you can find yourself reacting to problems instead of leading your business.

You do not have to keep doing that alone.

In this episode of Rise to Thrive: Reclaiming Your Resilience, Coach Waugh and Dr. Rhonda Boggi speak directly to assisted living owners, home care operators, adult family care providers, and senior care founders who need support, strategy, accountability, and a clearer path forward.

If you are tired of carrying the weight of the business by yourself, this conversation is your reminder that help exists.

    You can get support.

You can strengthen what is weak.

You can rebuild what is not working.

And you can move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

If this sounds like where you are right now, reach out.

Sometimes the next breakthrough begins with one honest conversation.

You are in business for yourself, but you do not have to be in business by yourself.
