  • Episode 004: Smells Like Petrichor, Tastes Like Warm Malt-o-Meal
    2026/10/16

In this episode of Review, Reroll, Refill, hosts Will Matthews of Beerploma and John Leingang, Head Brewer at Nine Mile Brewing Company, broadcast live from the Nine Mile taproom for a lively mix of craft brewing insights and nerd culture. Starting off with their signature Underberg digestif ritual, the duo offers a behind-the-scenes look at brewing Meeple Madness 2.0—an experimental American Pilsner featuring un-named West Coast experimental hops—and takes listeners through the hands-on sensory experience of evaluating fresh "bale cut" Cascade and Chinook hops. The conversation seamlessly shifts into the tabletop world as they cover recent Magic: The Gathering developments, including cracking Reality Fracture booster packs, the resolution of the Secret Lair: Zeta production controversy, and upcoming changes to booster pack contents. Rounding out the episode, Will and John highlight community initiatives like Nine Mile's "Extra Mile" volunteer program and share details on the upcoming 5th Annual Board Game Rodeo, a local fundraiser benefiting Woodlake Nature Center complete with game demos, silent auctions, and a cEDH tournament.

  • Episode 003: How To Fail A Sneeze!
    2026/09/12

The crew sets up shop at Beerploma Headquarters for an absolute powerhouse of an episode.

Will and John are joined by veteran gamer Alec (defender of the undefeated streak) and first-time guest Nick (representing Midcoast Gaming’s Untap, Upkeep, Draw draft league). Together, the table dives into a chaotic pick-two draft featuring Strixhaven and Murders at Karlov Manor, breaks down the current Commander meta, and tests out some imported international snack pairings.

    On the Tap List:

    • Swords to Plowshares – American Wheat Ale co-pitched with stone-fruit yeast.

    • Eleventh Hour – Traditional German-Style Hefeweizen packed with classic banana and clove notes.

    • Grip It By The Husk – Unsweetened house-toasted coconut & chocolate wheat ale (5.8% ABV).

In the Snack Bowl & Shot Glass:

    • International Lay’s Tasting: Black Pepper Steak vs. Spanish Iberico Ham.

    • Greek Import: Mediterranean Herb & Olive Pringles (and the great "Pringle Tray" debate).

    • The Tradition: Closing out with a classic Underberg digestif and a high-stakes round of Chicago's finest... Jeppson’s Malört.

Grab your playmat, set up your meeples, and let the bartender know you need another pour—it’s time to Review, Reroll, Refill!

We’re taking the show on the road! For our very first episode away from Nine Mile Brewing, the crew sets up shop at Beerploma Headquarters for an absolute powerhouse of an episode.

  • Episode 002: Pringles from Norway, Universes Beyond, & Midnight Fades
    2026/07/12

Grab your playmat, prep your dice, and tell the bartender to keep 'em coming!

In Episode 2 of Review, Reroll, Refill, Will Matthews (Beerploma) and head brewer John Leingang (Nine Mile Brewing Co.) are broadcasting live from a bustling Friday brew day in Bloomington, Minnesota.

To kick off a brand new show tradition, the guys brave the sharp, herbal burn of a German classic—the Underberg digestif—and talk about how it became the ultimate hop-selection rally cry. From there, it's a deep dive into the cardboard multiverse as they discuss the Secrets of Strixhaven set, the hits and misses of Magic: The Gathering’s Universes Beyond sets (looking at you, Marvel pre-release), and how the digital community on Whatnot scratches that pack-cracking itch when your local game store sells out.

Plus, the guys break down the street-level vs. universal-collapse storytelling killing Doctor Who and Star Trek, preview a quirky indie RPG called Green Oaks (think Scooby-Doo in a retirement home), and subject their palates to an international snack flight featuring cream cheese & herb Pringles straight out of a suitcase from Norway.

Finally, it's time to refill the glasses. John walks Will through a masterclass flight of Nine Mile favorites:

    • Leisurely Lemon: A soft, round, split-batch shandy made with authentic Sicilian lemons.

    • Breakfast Salad: A beautifully bright, tart, mimosa-vibe brunch IPA loaded with key lime, mango, Cara orange, and punchy Nectaron hops.

    • Pub Ale: The bready, Tootsie-roll-hinting, dark English mild that started it all.

    • Midnight Fade: A sleeper-hit Black IPA released for 4/20, infused with a massive dose of Cascade hops and aromatic, non-psychoactive cannabis terpenes (Sour Diesel, King Louis XIII, Blackberry Kush, and Gelato) that completely subverts visual expectations.
