Grab your playmat, prep your dice, and tell the bartender to keep 'em coming!

In Episode 2 of Review, Reroll, Refill, Will Matthews (Beerploma) and head brewer John Leingang (Nine Mile Brewing Co.) are broadcasting live from a bustling Friday brew day in Bloomington, Minnesota.

To kick off a brand new show tradition, the guys brave the sharp, herbal burn of a German classic—the Underberg digestif—and talk about how it became the ultimate hop-selection rally cry. From there, it's a deep dive into the cardboard multiverse as they discuss the Secrets of Strixhaven set, the hits and misses of Magic: The Gathering’s Universes Beyond sets (looking at you, Marvel pre-release), and how the digital community on Whatnot scratches that pack-cracking itch when your local game store sells out.

Plus, the guys break down the street-level vs. universal-collapse storytelling killing Doctor Who and Star Trek, preview a quirky indie RPG called Green Oaks (think Scooby-Doo in a retirement home), and subject their palates to an international snack flight featuring cream cheese & herb Pringles straight out of a suitcase from Norway.

Finally, it's time to refill the glasses. John walks Will through a masterclass flight of Nine Mile favorites:

    • Leisurely Lemon: A soft, round, split-batch shandy made with authentic Sicilian lemons.

    • Breakfast Salad: A beautifully bright, tart, mimosa-vibe brunch IPA loaded with key lime, mango, Cara orange, and punchy Nectaron hops.

    • Pub Ale: The bready, Tootsie-roll-hinting, dark English mild that started it all.

    • Midnight Fade: A sleeper-hit Black IPA released for 4/20, infused with a massive dose of Cascade hops and aromatic, non-psychoactive cannabis terpenes (Sour Diesel, King Louis XIII, Blackberry Kush, and Gelato) that completely subverts visual expectations.

  • Episode 001: "Calling the Banners"
    2026/03/27

In the inaugural episode of Review, Reroll, and Refill, Will and John kick things off at Nine Mile Brewing's tap room in Bloomington, MN. They trade Magic: The Gathering stories — from Swords to Plowshares to cracking Lorwyn packs — geek out over Modiphius tabletop RPGs and a potential Dune campaign, and swap board game favorites including the breakout hit Magical Athletes. Then they crack into three of Nine Mile's beers: the West Coast pilsner Liminal Threshold, the anniversary red rye lager Call the Banners, and the soon-to-be-released Lithuanian farmhouse ale Lithi — straight from the tank. Plus: upcoming Nine Mile events, the state of craft beer trends, and why kölsch and pub ales deserve more love.
