In this new weekly show from the host of The Paranormal Lovers we take a look at some of histories less well known events. Why are they less well known? Because " History is written by the victors."

So we are here to look at the other side of the story, and to give people a starting point to learn about the true history of this country.

We are taking a break from the bull shit this week with a pick me up.

Standing almost 6ft tall and weighting over 200 pounds, not much stood in Mary Fields way once she was freed from her enslavement. Not even the might of the Catholic church could stop Mary from being herself.

When she was 63 she won a contract as an independent mail carrier and from here Mary's name grew into the stuff of legends. But Mary does not need tales of bravery or heroism to make her stand out. She made her own path and the world will forever be brighter for it.

Ugh, this guy. So glad this is the last I'm gonna have to talk about this douche canoe.

Colombo was not the hero he has been made out to be. No, he is not known to be a kind man by historians, cutting off hands for missed taxes, " giving" native women to his friends to do with what they wanted, and forcing native people into dark dank mines to extract the resources deep under ground.

His arrival opened the door for all matter of men with cruel, greedy intentions to sail across the sea in search of fortune, with absolutely no regard for the lives of those who already inhabited the land.

And so next year when " Columbus Day rolls around, learn about the local native community in your area and get involved with their community. It is the least we can do after being given the gift of birth on their land by the Creator.

  • Episode 44: The Great Galveston Hurricane of 1900:
    2025/10/13

Boy do we have a sad story for yall today.

Living in the mountains we have experience with feeling safe from natural disasters. But just last year Mother Nature showed us even we are not safe from her wrath.

And that was a hard lesson residents of Galveston learned in September of 1900. After a few decades of having storms pass them by the residents of this booming island city felt that they were safe from any that might come their way.

Add to that a political pissing match between the US and Cuban governments that brought communications to a halt, Galveston was terribly unprepared for the Cat 4 hurricane that was coming their way. And due to that, this city saw one of, if not the largest lost of life within the US. Thousands of lives were lost due to mans folly.
