  • Beyond the Mood: Where Real Change Begins
    2026/09/06

What if changing your mood isn’t enough to change your life?

In this episode of the Reclaim Your Energy Podcast, John Curran explores a thought-provoking quote from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi:

“There’s no way to raise our consciousness other than by releasing stresses and gaining purity of the nervous system.”

John unpacks what this idea might mean in everyday life—and why there may be a difference between simply changing how we feel in the moment and releasing the deeper stress that can keep us stuck in old patterns.

We talk about the difference between changing the channel and clearing the static, why accumulated stress can affect the way we experience life, and how becoming more present can give us greater freedom to choose what we do with the moment we’re in.

Especially as we get older, reclaiming our energy isn’t always about finding more energy. Sometimes it’s about releasing what is draining the energy we already have.

If you’re over 50 and wondering how to feel more engaged, present, and energized in the years ahead, this conversation may give you something to think about.

You don’t have to have your whole life figured out to participate fully in the life you’re living right now.

I’m John Curran, and this is the Reclaim Your Energy Podcast.

  • Reclaim Your Energy: What Wallace Wattles Can Teach Us About Creating the Life We Want
    2026/09/04

What if creating the life you want begins with how you use your energy right now?

In this episode of the Reclaim Your Energy Podcast, John Curran explores the timeless wisdom of Wallace Wattles, author of The Science of Getting Rich. Wattles believed that we have the ability to consciously shape our lives by the way we think, act, and direct our energy.

John connects Wattles’ ideas to the Reclaim Your Energy philosophy — becoming more intentional about where you place your attention, what you believe is possible, and what you do with the moment in front of you.

You don’t have to change your entire life overnight. Sometimes, it begins with one thought, one decision, and one moment at a time.

Reclaim your energy. Reclaim this moment. Reclaim your life.

  • What Are You Bringing Into the World?
    2026/09/02

The Energy We Share, the Moments We Choose, and the Ripple We Create

What energy are you bringing into the world?

In this episode of the Reclaim Your Energy Podcast, John Curran explores the powerful connection between our attention, emotional state, actions, and the energy we share with others.

Inspired by a message from Robert Hollis about letting your actions inspire, John reflects on how the people we surround ourselves with—and the energy we bring into our relationships—can influence our experience and the people around us.

Through the lens of the Map of Consciousness and the philosophy behind Reclaim Thisnf Moment, John explores a simple but powerful idea:

Every moment gives us an opportunity to choose what we bring into the world.

We may never know who our words, actions, kindness, or encouragement will impact. We may never know which seeds will take root.

But we can plant the seeds.

We can choose to bring more kindness, love, gratitude, courage, compassion, and joy into our interactions. We can become more aware of the energy we are carrying—and decide whether it is energy that lifts others up or drains them.

You don’t have to change the entire world.

You can start with the moment you’re in.

    You are simply the messenger.

Plant the seed.Share the message.Let your actions inspire.

    And see what happens.

Reclaim your energy. Reclaim your moment. And live the life that’s still waiting to be lived.

  • What Walden Pond Taught Me About Reclaiming Your Life
    2026/08/30

What happens when you step away from the noise and spend a little time listening to yourself?

Today, I’m coming to you from Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts—the place where Henry David Thoreau lived, wrote, and explored some of the questions that still matter to us today.

Standing there, I found myself thinking about something much bigger than Thoreau. I thought about what it means to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and consciously choose how you want to live the next chapter of your life.

For those of us over 50, that question can become especially powerful. We’ve spent decades working, raising families, meeting expectations, and taking care of other people. But at some point, we have to ask ourselves:

What do I really want my life to look like now?

In this episode, I share some of the thoughts that came to me at Walden Pond and how Thoreau’s ideas connect with the philosophy behind Reclaim Your Energy—living more intentionally, protecting your energy, and recognizing that you don’t have to wait for some perfect moment to begin creating a life that feels more like your own.

Sometimes, reclaiming your life begins with simply stopping long enough to hear yourself think.

And sometimes, it begins with one moment.

Reclaim Your Energy. Reclaim Your Life. One Moment at a Time.

  • Episode 7: Setting Your Sails — Finding Your Direction, Flow, and Purpose Through Your Inner Compass
    2026/08/28

Life is a lot like sailing.

We can’t control the wind—but we can choose our direction, adjust our sails, and decide how we respond to whatever life puts in our path.

In this episode of the Reclaim Your Energy Podcast, John Curran explores the powerful metaphor of setting your sails and what it can teach us about creating a life that feels more aligned, purposeful, and alive.

John talks about discovering your inner compass, taking action on what matters, working with the circumstances you can’t control, finding flow, recognizing opportunities, and understanding that changing course isn’t failure—it’s part of the journey.

Most importantly, you don’t have to have your entire life figured out.

You simply need to know your direction, set your sails, and take the next step.

Because the only place you can change your course is right here, right now—in this moment.

You may not be able to control the wind, but you can always choose how you set your sails.

    One moment at a time.

    In This Episode

    • Discovering your inner compass• Setting your sails through intentional action• Learning to work with the wind instead of fighting it• Finding flow rather than forcing the journey• Recognizing opportunities when they appear• Understanding that course correction is not failure• Staying present and reclaiming the power of this moment

  • You Don’t Have to Change Your Life — Change Your Moment
    2026/08/22

What if you don’t have to change your entire life to start feeling different?

If you’re over 50 and you’ve ever looked at your life and thought, “Something has to change,” this episode is for you.

We often believe meaningful change requires a massive decision, a perfect plan, or a complete reinvention of ourselves. But what if real change begins much smaller — with the moment we’re in right now?

In this episode, John Curran explores the power of living one moment at a time and how changing your attention can change your energy, your choices, and ultimately the direction of your life.

    John shares practical ideas about:

    • Why trying to change everything at once can leave us overwhelmed• How to “change the channel” when you’re stuck in old patterns• Why where you put your attention matters• How to stop living in yesterday or worrying about tomorrow• A simple three-question exercise you can use today• Why you don’t have to have your whole life figured out to fully participate in the life you’re living right now

At any age, you have the ability to make a different choice in the moment you’re in.

You don’t have to change your whole life today. You just have to reclaim this moment.

This episode is inspired by John’s new book, RECLAIM THIS MOMENT: Creating Your Life, Your Relationships, and Your Future One Moment at a Time.

  • The Map of Consciousness: Understanding What’s Really Draining Your Energy
    2026/08/07

Have you ever wondered why you can get enough sleep, take care of yourself, and still feel completely drained?

Your physical health matters, but your energy is influenced by more than your body. Your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, worries, and the way you respond to life can have a powerful impact on how you feel each day.

In this episode of Reclaim Your Energy Podcast, John explores Dr. David Hawkins’ Map of Consciousness—a framework for understanding different emotional and mental states, from fear, anger, and guilt to courage, acceptance, love, and peace.

Rather than treating the map as a scientific measurement, John explores it as a practical tool for self-awareness. What emotional state are you spending most of your time in? What is consuming your energy? And what might change if you became more intentional about where you invest that energy?

John also shares a simple exercise you can use this week to identify what is giving you energy, what is draining it, and what emotional states may be influencing your everyday life.

John’s Practical Tip: For seven days, take five minutes at the end of each day to ask yourself:

    • What gave me energy today?• What drained my energy today?• What emotional state did I spend the most time in?

Awareness comes before change. And when you become more conscious of where your energy is going, you can begin to reclaim it.

Your energy is one of your most valuable resources. Be intentional about where you invest it.
