Given the skyrocketing rates of loneliness, depression, anxiety and suicide since the release of the first iPhone in 2007 and Android phone a year later, we can say that our first attempt as human beings at creating healthy social relationships has largely failed.

I’m Dr. Anthony Silard, your host of ReSocial. Are you the type of person who values nothing more in your life than your close relationships? If you are, ReSocial was created for you. We bring in the top thought leaders in the world at the nexus of research and practice to help you rediscover, reflect on and renew the CMSRs – the Compassionate, Meaningful, Sustainable Relationships - in your life. Let’s get started so you can create the life you have imagined – a life filled with CMSRs.

  • Dr. Jenny Radesky – What Distracted Parents are Really Saying to Their Kids
    2026/08/20

Many of our listeners graduated into adulthood in a different world than the one their children inhabit. You navigated your own childhood without a smartphone in your pocket, a notification pinging every few seconds, an algorithm deciding what you see. And now you're trying to parent in an environment that moves faster, connects deeper, and—if we're honest—works directly against the kind of presence and conversation that builds CMSRs.

Hello, I'm your host Dr. Anthony Silard, and welcome to ReSocial—where we rediscover, reflect on and renew how we approach social relationships so we can develop Compassionate, Meaningful, Sustainable Relationships, or what we call CMSRs.

Today I'm joined by Dr. Jenny Radesky, a developmental pediatrician at the University of Michigan and co-Medical Director of the American Academy of Pediatrics' Center of Excellence on Social Media and Youth Mental Health. Her career is built on a simple but radical premise: the problem isn't you, the parent, trying harder to manage screens. The problem is the systems—the design choices, the business incentives, the lack of federal guardrails—that make it almost impossible for families to build authentic connection in the first place.

  • Dr. Sonja Lyubomirsky – The Five Mindsets for Feeling Loved
    2026/08/12

Feeling loved is something we build through how we choose to show up in every conversation, with every person who matters to us. And the power of that—the part that's actually within your control—starts with the first move. It's yours to make.

Hello, I'm your host Dr. Anthony Silard, and welcome to ReSocial—where we rediscover, reflect on and renew how we approach social relationships so we can develop Compassionate, Meaningful, Sustainable Relationships, or what we call CMSRs.

We’re joined today by Dr. Sonja Lyubomirsky, author of How to Feel Loved, to discuss her research which shows us that how we listen—how we stay genuinely curious about the people we love—may be one of the most powerful things we can change if we want to feel more loved and help the people we care about feel the same way.

  • Dr. Richard Boyatzis – What Happens When You Overdose on Convenience
    2026/08/04

Have you ever ended a long week feeling completely spent or like you gave everything and somehow came back with less than you started? Or maybe you have someone in your life who keeps pushing, keeps achieving, but seems to be running on fumes and doesn't know why. That feeling isn't a personal failing, and it has a solution.

Richard Boyatzis, Distinguished Professor at Case Western Reserve University and author of The Science of Change. Over fifty years, Richard has studied how people actually change and what makes the relationships around us either restore us or quietly drain us dry. He will share what the neuroscience of renewal and human connection can offer all of us who are tired of feeling tired.
