このコンテンツについて
Racism Is Not Human (Part 2) Racism is a destructive form of prejudice that fosters negative attitudes toward individuals based on their racial or ethnic group. It often relies on harmful stereotypes and can lead to discrimination and even violence. Discrimination occurs when people are treated unfairly because of aspects of their identity, such as race, gender, age, religion, nationality, ability, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. This unfair treatment can be both personal and institutional, stemming directly from biased beliefs.
According to Merriam-Webster, racism is the belief that race determines a person’s traits and abilities—a mindset that has fueled the dangerous notion that some races are superior to others. This leads to systems where one racial group is favored over others, shaping inequalities in politics, the economy, and social structures. In this episode, we explore ten key causes of racism, especially as they impact Black communities, examining how prejudice manifests on both individual and systemic levels. Understanding these root causes is essential in confronting racism and working toward a more just and equal society.
Because in the end, we must remember: racism is not human.
