 The Red Sox (38-36) opened up their longest road trip of the season with a 2-0 victory over the Seattle Mariners Monday night at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. It's the Red Sox 2nd straight shutout win and 6th on the season. The Sox have won 6 in a row, 8 of 9 and 9 of 11. Aroldis Chapman struck out the side in the 9th to preserve the shutout and notch his 13th save of the season.-----Going with Gio: Lucas Giolito made the mound start in the series opener against the Mariners Monday night and he picked up his 3rd win of the season with 6 scoreless innings. Giolito finished up by retiring the final 12 hitters that he faced. He gave up 3 straight singles in the 3rd Inning and then came back and struck out the next 3 hitters. He turned in his 5th outing this season where he allowed 0 or 1 runs. -----1st for Roman: Roman Anthony got the Red Sox on the board with a 2-out, solo Home Run off Logan Gilbert in the 1st Inning. It's his 1st in the Big Leagues. Brian Van Belle was designated for assignment after he was added to both the 40-man and active rosters on Tuesday.
