  • The Modern Herbal Dispensatory: Medicine Making with Thomas Easley (Episode 82)
    2026/09/03

My guest today is Thomas Easley — clinical herbalist, founder of the Eclectic School of Herbal Medicine, and co-author of The Modern Herbal Dispensatory, the medicine-making guide now used by herbalists across the country.

Thomas has been in clinical practice since 2001 and now trains the next generation of herbalists from a 500-acre botanical sanctuary in North Carolina — the second largest in the US.

In this conversation, Thomas takes us back to 1996, when he was 13 years old and watched five different medical specialists fail to diagnose what was wrong with his twin sister — until a local herbalist with an eighth-grade education solved it in fifteen minutes. It’s the moment that set him on a lifelong path into plant medicine, and it’s where his story — and this episode — begins.
