Michael Pittman Jr. is trending toward missing Week Two against the Patriots after failing to practice all week — insiders say his foot injury doesn’t look good. If he sits, rookie Germie Bernard steps up opposite DK Metcalf, potentially thriving if Patriots CB Carlton Davis III also misses time. Bernard’s a flex or waiver target. Roman Wilson could see more slot targets, while Metcalf becomes the focal point of the passing game. Rodgers’ ceiling dips slightly with weather concerns, but he’ll lean on backups. Running backs Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle gain opportunities — Warren in short routes, Dowdle in carries. Tight end Pat Freiermuth also gets more looks, especially in the middle. Pittman’s absence creates openings — watch how these players respond under pressure.

Steelers’ star cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is locked in a contract standoff that’s dragging into the 2026 season, with no other teams stepping in—suggesting his price tag or perceived value is too high. While Pittsburgh has historically splurged on elite QBs and made exceptions for stars like T.J. Watt and DK Metcalf, this deal seems to be hitting a wall. Complicating matters, the team’s unwritten rule against signing deals during the season remains in place, and with Porter already missing games, rumors swirl he may never play for Pittsburgh again. With fines looming and no resolution in sight, fans are watching as this saga unfolds week by week.

Joe Burrow insists he’s good to go despite being listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against Houston, calling his back tightness “game soreness” and dismissing any talk of sitting out. With a history of injuries—including ACL tears, wrist issues, and turf toe—he’s no stranger to setbacks, but he’s ready to face the Steelers again. His recent win over Tampa Bay saw him throw for 250+ yards with a TD and an INT, while the Bengals’ defense forced four turnovers. Last year, JaMarr Chase shredded the Steelers for 16 catches, 160+ yards, and a TD—though they held him in check the second time around. With Burrow’s health still up in the air, this matchup could be pivotal.
