Just a short one this week. Even though I don't usually read YA, I couldn't pass up a fantasy book about a Black mermaid based on African folklore. What did I ultimately think? Listen to find out!

This book bamboozled me! Though not actually a fantasy, despite it's marketing, The Last Tale of the Flower Bride is a fairy tale influenced gothic story about co-dependency and the lies we tell ourselves to maintain a comfortable fiction.

I am so glad to be back and even more glad that April is over. I've got an excellent slate of books coming up to read and review for you in the month of May, starting with Shadow of the Gods.
