The Philippians Biblical Exposition series you are now listening to consists of four chapters in total and covers Philippians chapters 1 through 4. The content is organized by topic and divided into three sections: Biblical Exposition, Sermon, and Questions and Answers. This book offers a fresh understanding of the Epistle to the Philippians from the perspective of the 'gospel of the water and the Spirit.' When we hold fast to the truth that Jesus took the sins of the whole world upon Himself by being baptized by John, suffered judgment on the Cross, and was resurrected, the true source of Paul’s joy becomes absolutely clear. Paul discarded everything he once boasted of as rubbish, proclaiming instead the righteousness received from God through faith alone. Those who believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit have already been delivered from sin and granted citizenship in heaven. Even though our flesh is weak, we are never again placed under condemnation; this is the root of true joy that remains unshaken in any circumstance. Salvation has been accomplished completely, once and for all. Now, we must believe in this gospel with all our hearts and live boldly, sharing it in our new life. This book serves as a clear guide along that path. ● Scripture quotations used in this book are from the ‘New King James Version (NKJV)’, ‘American Standard Version (ASV)’. ● This audiobook is an original human creation based on the sermons of Rev. Paul C. Jong. When we look deeply into Philippians, we see the heart of one man: the heart of the Apostle Paul. The questions contained in this book trace the grain of that heart one strand at a time. As we keep asking why Paul spoke as he did, before we know it we come face to face with the heart with which he wrote this letter.

The author of this epistle is the Apostle Paul. As he begins the letter, Paul makes it clear that he is the one sending it, saying, “Paul and Timothy, bondservants of Jesus Christ, To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the bishops and deacons” (Philippians 1:1).

Philippians chapter 1 is the opening of the letter that the Apostle Paul sent to the church in Philippi while he was imprisoned. The church in Philippi was the first church Paul established in the region of Macedonia, and it had a relationship of deep love and cooperation with him. That is why this letter is filled not with rebuke but with thanksgiving, joy, and exhortation. Chapter 1 proceeds from greetings and a prayer of thanksgiving, to a report on Paul’s own circumstances in prison, and then to an exhortation toward a life worthy of the gospel. In what follows, we will first explain each passage from a general point of view, and then look into its meaning together from the perspective of the gospel of the water and the Spirit.
