Welcome back to Phantom Journeys Podcast!

This time, we're heading deep into the woods, where the trees are tall, the stories are even taller, and the truth… well, that's sometimes a little harder to find.

Before the days of television, the internet, and social media, lumberjacks spent long days working in some of the most remote places imaginable. Around the campfire, stories grew and grew. Tales of incredible strength, impossible feats, strange creatures, and larger-than-life characters became part of the folklore of the American frontier.

But were these stories simply entertainment, exaggerated over generations… or could some of them have been inspired by something real?

Join Matt and Ken as Phantom Journeys explores the wild world of Lumberjack Tall Tales. Where fact, folklore, humor, and the unexplained sometimes get tangled together.

So grab your axe, watch your back, and whatever you do…

Don't believe everything you hear in the woods.

This is Phantom Journeys Podcast, bringing the unexplained to your earholes!

MOVIE NIGHT SPECIAL

Tonight, we’re doing something a little different.

The popcorn is ready, the lights are low, and the movies are rolling. This isn’t your ordinary movie night. Every film on tonight’s list has a connection to something that happened in the real world… or at least, something someone claims happened.

Ken has chosen the movie titles. Matt has the stories behind them. The question is: Can you figure out which strange, terrifying, and downright bizarre paranormal case inspired each movie?

Some you’ll recognize immediately.
Others may surprise you, and a few might make you look at that movie sitting on your shelf just a little differently.

So settle in, turn down the lights, and join us for a very special Phantom Journeys Halloween Movie Brain.

Just remember…

Sometimes the scariest part of the movie is finding out it was based on something real.

THE TOKOLOSHE

Small in stature. Mischievous by nature. And according to legend… something you definitely don't want lurking beneath your bed.

The Tokoloshe is a supernatural creature from Southern African folklore, particularly associated with Zulu and Xhosa traditions. Descriptions vary, but it is often portrayed as a small, humanoid being capable of causing illness, fear, mischief, and sometimes death.

There are also traditions claiming that a Tokoloshe can be summoned and used to harm others.

And why do some people raise their beds on bricks?

Well… that's where things get interesting.

Join Phantom Journeys as we explore the folklore, stories, and darker beliefs surrounding the Tokoloshe.

Whatever you do… keep your feet off the floor.
