Morry Frenkel speaks with high-profile Sydney barrister, Peter Lavac, an outspoken supporter of Israel and the Australian Jewish community. Peter talks about the factors in his childhood that set the foundations for him pursuing justice through the Law as an adult. He believes Australia has a serious problem, not only with the protesting ‘thugs’, who are blatantly antisemitic, but these extremists also hate our country and its citizens. Peter is critical of the Federal Government’s lack of effective action and the unwillingness of police to enforce the law. Peter describes what he hopes to do when he visits Israel in the near future and how he will use the information he gathers to educate the broader Australian community on the war in Gaza and Israel’s response to the horrors of October 7th, 2023. Peter, who is not Jewish, has offered to provide advice to or represent anyone pro bono, if they have been impacted by antisemitic acts.
