Saints are people just like (presumably) you and me: But hopefully unlike you and me, they often meet their Maker in the most bizarre, tragic ways imaginable. Katie, a literature-loving attorney, and her fiance, Andrew, a history-loving film buff, are two Catholic school survivors. While we didn’t learn how to do taxes, we did spend plenty of hours learning Catholic dogma. Join us every Friday as we explore the histories and lore surrounding the holy individuals recognized by the Catholic Church as saints (with a bit of dark humor inherited from religion class).© 2025 Patron Saint of Podcasts 世界

St. Lawrence is the patron saint of people who work with open fires, people to whom fire means harm, students, and comedians. But why? Travel back to the 200s and join us to hear a tale full of roasts and fire.

St. Lawrence Martyr, pray for us.

    2025/08/02

Saints were people like you and me. But, unlike you and me, most of them lived tragic lives and/or died horrific deaths. Maybe you didn’t attend Catholic school, or maybe you did and just repressed all those memories. In our pilot episode, we review Sainthood 101 and play a game called Saints or Hamsters? Dip your toes into the Catholic school experience without all of the trauma, guilt, and social rejection.

Saints or Hamsters? starts at 15:55
