  • Seeking First the Treasure That Cannot Fade

In this powerful episode of Our Journey to Hope, we explore the deeper meaning behind two often quoted promises: Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of God,” and Psalm 37:4, “Delight yourself in the Lord.” Are these verses promises of earthly wealth and comfort, or do they point us toward something far greater?

Together, we uncover how Jesus calls us beyond anxiety over temporary things and into the eternal pursuit of God’s Kingdom, while Psalm 37 reveals that true delight in the Lord transforms our desires until God Himself becomes our greatest treasure.

This episode offers encouragement for anyone wrestling with worry, misplaced priorities, or the search for lasting hope. Discover how seeking God first reshapes our hearts, redefines blessing, and anchors us in the treasure that cannot fade.

When we seek the Kingdom, we find the King. And in Him, we find the hope our hearts were truly made for.

When I was a young sergeant in the Air Force I was stationed in Turkey on a remote assignment. My family had to remain at home for the year I was away. Each day I longed desperately to return home to my family. I longed for the happy reunion when I would see them face-to-face.

In this episode if reflect on the hymn Face to Face and the powerful promise it proclaims. Together, we explore what it means to live with a confident hope that one day faith will become sight as we stand before Christ. This episode encourages us to press forward with purpose, endure with faith, and remember that we are all moving toward a promised moment when faith becomes sight as we stand in the presence of the Savior we love.

  • Are We Hoping For or Hoping In
    2026/04/14

What happens when what we’re hoping for… doesn’t happen?

In this episode of Our Journey to Hope, we explore the powerful difference between hoping for something and hoping in Someone. Drawing from 1 Peter 1:3–5, we’re reminded that while our circumstances may change, our hope does not have to.

It’s natural to hope for better days, restored relationships, or answers to prayer. But when our hope is tied only to outcomes, it can feel fragile and uncertain. God offers something deeper—a living hope anchored in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Join us as we discover how shifting our focus from what we’re hoping for to who we’re hoping in brings stability, peace, and confidence—no matter what we face.

If you’ve ever felt discouraged when life didn’t unfold the way you expected, this episode will gently remind you: your hope is not lost… it’s secure.

Because true hope isn’t found in outcomes—it’s found in Christ.

In this episode we share the powerful and faith-filled story of John Holley, Dean of Technology at Calhoun Community College in Decatur, Alabama—a man whose life reflects resilience, purpose, and unwavering trust in the Lord.

John’s journey through cancer was not just a battle for health, but a walk of faith. In the midst of uncertainty, God met him with strength, peace, and a deeper sense of hope. Today, as a survivor and a brother in Christ, John continues to live out that hope—encouraging others through both his testimony and his leadership.
