Oklahoma State pulled off a jaw-dropping 39-31 upset over No. 6 Oregon, ending a 21-game losing streak against top-tier teams and igniting wild celebrations as fans stormed the field. Quarterback Drew Mestemaker was the star, throwing for 317 yards and two TDs—including a 52-yard bomb—while also rushing for 109 yards and a score on just six carries. His 75-yard opening drive run set the tone, and he sealed the win with a clutch 75-yard drive capped by a diving 10-yard touchdown run. Oklahoma State outgained Oregon 554-281, marking their first win against a top-six team since 2022—and Mestemaker earned National Player of the Week honors. This wasn’t just a victory; it was a statement from a team nobody expected to deliver.

Oklahoma State stunned No. 21 Oregon with a 39-31 upset, capitalizing on a tell in quarterback Dante Moore’s footwork—his distinct stance before passing tipped off the Cowboys’ defense, leading to four sacks and a slow start. Moore completed just one of his first seven passes but later found his rhythm, throwing two touchdowns. Though he’s never thrown an interception this season, the exposed tendency gives Oregon a chance to fix it—and even weaponize it. Coach Dan Lanning confirms they’re working to disguise these tells, turning a setback into a strategic opportunity for growth.

Oregon Ducks QB Dante Moore’s pre-snap stance is leaking play calls—balanced feet = run, forward step = pass—and Oklahoma State’s defense caught on. It’s a glaring, fixable flaw that slipped through training camp, now threatening their season as they face tougher matchups ahead. Moore admits he’s working on it, but with USC looming and a shaky record already, the Ducks need to get fundamentals dialed in fast—or risk falling further behind.

Oregon’s preseason hype hit a wall in a shocking 39-31 loss to Oklahoma State, exposing deeper issues than just one game. Outplayed in yards and time of possession, the Ducks’ early stumble echoes past disappointments like Clemson and Penn State — teams with star power and championship dreams that faltered. Head coach Dan Lanning, newly locked in as one of college football’s highest-paid coaches, now faces mounting pressure amid roster changes and injuries, including a key offensive lineman lost for the season. Their narrow win over Boise State — sealed by a last-second touchdown and plagued by penalties — only adds to the concerns. With a tough schedule ahead, Oregon’s ability to rebound will be closely watched, but this early setback has already cast doubt on whether they can live up to their lofty expectations.

Oregon Ducks stumble early despite top-2 preseason ranking, bouncing back from a close win over Boise State with a shocking loss to Oklahoma State — a team that had just lost the week before. A players-only meeting sparked crucial reflection, helping quarterback Dante Moore and his teammates refocus ahead of their next game. With 17 penalties in two games and a defense falling short of expectations, the Ducks are using adversity as fuel. Moore’s decision to return for another season — skipping the NFL Draft — adds pressure as his draft stock wobbles ahead of a brutal Big Ten slate. Talent is there, but mindset must shift if Oregon hopes to claw back into playoff contention.

The Oregon Ducks are in trouble early this season, stumbling to a 1-1 record after a brutal loss to Oklahoma State where they surrendered 39 points. Coach Dan Lanning admits the team’s discipline is failing them—repeated penalties, including costly offsides, reveal a lack of focus and leadership. Despite returning starters, the Ducks are struggling mentally, and their slow starts in both games point to deeper issues that must be fixed before they can compete at the highest level. Their chance to reset comes Friday night against Portland State—a critical test to prove they can rebound, tighten up, and start playing the disciplined football expected of them.

Oregon’s Ducks are spiraling with penalties—17 in just two games—and head coach Dan Lanning is furious, calling it a glaring lack of discipline that’s costing them wins. He’s especially frustrated with repeat offsides and inexcusable penalties on critical downs, despite heavy practice. If they don’t fix this fast, their talent won’t be enough to overcome the mounting mistakes as they face tougher Big Ten opponents.
