  • Ep. 31: Is it time to take a cell phone break?
    2025/12/17

In this episode we're asking some important questions about our relationship with our cell phones. How connected is too connected? Does that restless, uneasy feeling some of us get when we haven't looked at the phone for awhile signal an addiction? Do you know where your cell phone is right now and how long has it been since you last looked at your social media or played a game? Kerry admits to falling into a doom scrolling addiction. Maddie confesses that a lot of the time she doesn't know where her phone has gone and feeling anxious until she locates it. And Jennifer reveals a healthy attitude toward her own phone and an ability to use it responsibly. (We considered calling this episode Be Like Jennifer.🤣)

We'd love to hear from you on this topic. What is your relationship with your phone? Are you possibly overly dependent? Do you have any tips or techniques to share on how to manage our screen time better? Email us at onehappythingpodcast@gmail.com, or find us on social media:

  • Ep. 24: The Art and Science of Creating Your Own Reality
    2025/09/10

In this episode, we're diving into the idea that we can shape our own reality by choosing our thoughts and our focus. Curating social media, limiting exposure to the news, and consciously starting the day with things that bring us joy are a few of the suggestions we discuss. We also talk about deliberately choosing joy even when the world is suffering, including a discussion about the contagious nature of emotions. Here's the link to the TedX talk we reference on research that demonstrates the infectious power of a genuine smile.

We'd love to hear from you—even if you're an eye roller on this topic! And if you have reality creation practices of your own, we really want to hear about those too. Drop a review, or email us at onehappthingpodcast@gmail.com.
