  • Olodo Uprising: Is Our Generation Rewarding Stupidity? | Off The Mic - Season 1 Episode 8
    2026/07/19

Olodo uprising had everyone talking, but while most people were focused on the surface of the conversation, we decided to dig deeper. The real question is not about who is passing or failing in the classroom. It is about what our generation has chosen to celebrate, amplify and reward outside of it. When the people who go viral are the ones doing the least, when stupidity gets more engagement than substance, and when we actively fund and follow those who contribute nothing, what does that say about us as a generation? In this episode our hosts analyzed the conversation happening online, broke down what the uprising really represents, and asked the question nobody wants to answer honestly. Are the real Olodos the ones being called out, or are they the ones doing the calling while simultaneously rewarding the very culture they claim to be against? This episode is sharp, it is opinionated and it will make you look at your following list differently.watch now and tell us in the comments, is our generation rewarding stupidity?

  • Nigeria vs South Africa: How Different Are We Really? | Off The Mic -Season 1 Episode 7
    2026/07/12

Every African country has its own story, but how different are those stories really when you sit down and compare them?

In this episode, we had a South African guest in the building and the conversation went places we genuinely did not expect. From the normalization of things that should never be normal, to how violence has become part of the political landscape, to the way class and location shape an entirely different Nigerian experience depending on where you are in the country, it became clear very quickly that where you grow up within a country matters just as much as which country you grow up in.

Because the Nigerian experience is not one thing. It is many things, and not all of them are equal, and when you hold that up against a completely different African country, the similarities and the differences become impossible to ignore.

This episode is honest, eye opening and at times uncomfortable, but it is a conversation our generation needs to be having across borders, not just within them.

Listen and tell us in the comments, do you think the African experience is the same everywhere or does the country change everything?

  • Hustle Culture: Soft Generation or Harder Times? | Off The Mic - Season 1 Episode 6
    2026/06/21

Every generation has had to hustle, but not every generation has had to hustle like this.

The economy is broken, the system was never really built for us, and the basic things our parents took for granted have become things we have to fight for daily. Yet somehow, we're still the generation being called soft, still the ones being told to work harder, complain less and figure it out, as if figuring it out doesn't cost three times more than it did twenty years ago.

In this episode we got into all of it. The reality of what it means to hustle in Nigeria right now, why the gap between our generation and the one before us is wider than people want to admit, and whether the system is actually failing us or whether the problem runs deeper than that.

We also talked about burnout, because when you are grinding this hard just to meet basic needs, there is only so long before something breaks.

And then there is the other side of the conversation, the growing obsession with aesthetically pleasing careers, why everyone wants to be in the media space, and whether our generation is doing enough with the opportunities that actually exist.

This episode is honest, it is uncomfortable in places, and it will make you think about the hustle differently.

listen and tell us where you stand in the comments.
