Have you ever gone to church and found yourself looking around at who else is there? The poet Robert Burns wrote a poem about this. He looked at the person sitting in front of him and saw a louse (plural of this word is "lice.") sitting on this person's collar. So he wrote a poem and gave it the title, "To a Louse." We don't know if the poet heard the sermon that day or not! Our subject this morning is "Four People Who Go to Church." Stay with us; maybe we will hear about more than a louse on someone's collar.

Have you ever been afraid? That probably is a foolish question, since most of us would have to admit that there have been times when we have really been afraid. The Bible always has a word of help to us in any situation in our lives when we have special needs, and surely God's Word can help us when we are afraid. Today we will look at two Bible verses: Psalm 56:3 and Isaiah 12:2, and see what God has to say to us when we are afraid.

Although the day of our nation’s independence, July 4th, was yesterday, it’s never too late to celebrate such a significant event. Today, we’ll hear words from the founders of our nation and also from people of our own time. Let’s pray that we, as Americans, can all develop a deeper appreciation and sense of gratitude for the blessings we’ve been given.
