Making longevity accessible.
Join Dr Jeffrey Egler, Noom’s Chief Medical Officer, in the Noom Room, as he gets personal about his blue-collar upbringing and atypical, engineering-driven path into medicine, which has influenced his approach to longevity at Noom.
In an age of prevalent obesity, where unhealthy is the new normal, Dr. Egler and Noom share a commitment to make longevity practical and accessible to everyone. Whilst the elites are undergoing pioneering, costly, longevity treatments, Dr. Egler champions shifting focus from managing chronic disease, to truly being well - using functional medicine to move beyond prescriptions and address root causes, whilst promoting preventive healthy habits for extended health span.
In this episode, Dr. Egler reflects on how the rise of GLP-1 medications is reshaping healthcare. He explains why the combination of GLP-1s with psychology and healthy habits delivers unmatched results, and why Noom is evolving beyond weight loss to focus on longevity.
Dr. Jeffrey is the chief medical officer at Noom. He is a board double certified physician in family and lifestyle medicine. Dr. Edgler practiced full-spectrum family medicine and subsequently became an assistant clinical professor of family medicine at USC. He has a master's degree in spiritual psychology and has held a number of medical director positions.
